Awesome bit of gear

Works exactly as described, put it in a shielded box and set LO to 125MHz and away you go. I found i still needed to calibrate PPM a lot with the cheaper R820T RTL-SDR I'm using as the weather warms up here, but that's the receiver I'm using which is why i just ordered another one from nooelec with a temperature compensated crystal (I can't wait to get it, it looks really good). The Ham It Up seems to perform very well once i get my tuner set, still playing with antennae and baluns to see what else i can pick up, but so far I'm very happy with it. The board is of exceptionally high quality with all gold plated connections and hardware, and lots of conveniently placed mounting holes which made adapting a case for it a fairly painless task, i used an old citrix client (looks like a modem case with heaps of shielding, but I'll probably order the aluminium ones at some point in the future for both the tuner and the HamItUp as they look really nice!)
So far both items I've received from NooElec have been very high quality and i have no doubt the new tuner will be the same, they also arrived double wrapped in bubble wrap parcels so they arrived safe and sound (which after many damaged items ordered over the years on ebay, is definitely appreciated!)
The noise circuit isn't something I've played with so i can't comment there, but looks easy enough to populate.
All frequencies I've picked up have come through surprisingly clear. I've been using Skywave linux to run it but have also got Shackbox and it works well so far on both (Skywave is nice because CubicSDR just works out of the box).
I Also use SDRTouch and RF Analyser on Android (Samsung S5 and Galaxy tab) but haven't played much with them using the Upconverter yet, did try looking around last night using them but lightning came over so packed up for the night. I would highly recommend the HamItUp to anybody interested in SDR, and NooElec as the place to get it from. Very cool product!

Excellent up-converter.

Excellent upconverter. Low noise and very efficient. I can see frequencies all the way from zero Hertz, although there should be filtering due to power line interferences. Just pay extra for metal casing - it will save your day preventing accidental mechanical damage and avoiding stray frequencies.Read full review...

Great product exceptional service

Great product. Nice inexpensive way to jump into sdr. Blown away by how well this thing does. Receives almost as well as my ts 850. First one sent went defective after a few days, few basic questions ask and in less than 7 days new piece arrived at no cost to me. Friendly staffRead full review...

Lightweight with great features.

It is a simple but effective way to get the dongle to pickup the shortwave frequencies via the switch.

Ham it up, cool

You need this to receive shortwave broadcast and AM broadcast below 24mhz, When you go below 24mhz you flip the upconvert switch and go to your settings and change the frequency offset to -125000000, and when you go back above 24mhz flip the switch to passthrough and change your offset to 0, recommend getting the enclosure for noise reduction, good product, I like mine.Read full review...

The Ham It Up Works Fine.......

But It doesn't fit into the container box that I bought with it. I can't get it to fit properly into the container and get the end pieces screwed in properly, so I use it without the container box or just slide it into the box without the ends.Read full review...

Nooelec

Don't waste your money on cheaper SDR's . They're nightmares on USB and mostly don't work or cause issues. The NooElec up converter works flawlessly. I had no issues and tried it on various OS. For the money these are excellent up converters. Combined with a NooElec SDR they work excellent.Read full review...

Works GREAT!

I took it from the package when it arrived and started using it with a cheap, generic rtl.sdr and a 7 band 132 ft OCF dipole. I was trying to hear if any difference between the generic rtl.sdr HF mode and the Up converter HF mode. I was sitting on the edge of a hard bench and by the time I got up, I was thoroughly HAPPY with the excellent sensitivity of the upconverter and my leg was asleep because I couldn't tear myself away!Read full review...
