Boxy black internet goodness

I was surprised at how well my new MiFi 6620L works. It easily reaches >25 Mbps and I have great signal everywhere I go (except a few spots on my train commute into Washington, D.C.).

Long battery life and solid signal make it a great device for remote work and internet use.

I strongly recommend the 6620L for anyone who needs a portable internet solution in addition to data sharing on a cell phone plan.

Uses data like it's going out of style

It uses up data like mad, a gig a day even when my computer does very little, and NO updates for my computer are being downloaded.
Rapidly hits the data usage point where speeds are throttled to a snail's pace, dialup is faster at that point.
Wifi turns on and off at random, but usb tethering still works consistently.
The control settings buttons are slow to react when selecting modes.
Not an excellent product by any means.
I am going back to an old fashioned usb broadband modem ..........

More control

I went from the simple 890L to this. The 890L didn't allow me much control but it just worked. It was very simple. This one is more complex which is nice. It allows more links, has more features, saves more devices, etc. I value most that it still has a removable battery, and can be used as an external charger.

Con: It hasn't seemed to learn my local towers yet so signal strength isn't caught up to what my 890L was over the last 4 years.

Good unit.

Replacing an older Verizon wifi jet pack. Took it to local Verizon store where they helped me set it up. They said it looked good. Took it home, fired it up and had better reception than I had had in years . I'm in a mountainous area of difficult reception so this is a complement to the product. Read full review...

Verizon Jetpack

The product is well made and functions reasonably well. I am in the Carolina mountains and reception is better in some parts of the house. The reason I do not recommend it is because of data usage. It is not a replacement for cable or dsl because of metered data usage. For twenty bucks a month you get a device you can carry and use occasionally while on trips.Read full review...

Works Well

I live in a rural area with poor reception and a cell hot spot is about my only option. This works well so far. One good thing about it is you can connect an antenna to it to improve signal strength.Read full review...

Small and easy to take places

It does what it is suppose to do. The only issue is the SIM card may get stuck. If it does get stuck use a T6 torx bit and remove the 4 screws and remove the SIM card that way. I ended up braking the SIM slot trying to pop out the SIM. That was a $50 mistake because I was being lazy.Read full review...

I bought this for my dad along with a laptop and it was the best gift ever. He had been learning how to use the internet and this device very useful and for the price cam beat that.

Nice not having to worry about data caps.

works as advertised. use it to connect with my phone tablet. it 3G but it works good enough for surfing the internet and streaming movies at 720k. watching them o the tablet only needs 720 anyway.
