Great Book... Great Series! Anita Blake Vampire Hunter

Great Book... Great Series! This is the 9th book in the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series. I love them all! This book finally gives us insite into Edward. He has been one of my favorite characters throughout this series. Anita is becoming more & more like him! Anita has proven herself to Edward but still needs to prove herself to every one else {as usual} including the authorities in New Mexico. Laurell Hamilton keeps her readers guessing by writting such unpredictable storylines with very unusual characters. They are all so addictive. Anita gets involved in a strange serial murder investigation, complete with sexually disfigured and flayed bodies. This book will keep you guessing...What Next! I could NOT put it down!

Anita Blake, Vampire/Werewolf Lover/Killer

I started out the series not sure if I would like it and I almost done with the series now. This one shows that Anita is growing up and starting to take after Edward, but he has surprised her by having a life outside of what he does for a living. His double life however annoys her because one doesn't go with the other. For some reason Edward is becoming more likeable and seems to have grown softer toward her. She misses her men although she fights it. This one along with all the other books in the series is a must read, but you have to read them in order or you lose the train of the story.Read full review...

My Favorite Anita Blake Novel So Far...

After reading the previous 8 novels in the series, this ranks up there as my favorite one.

Anita is finally coming into her own with this book! She's learning much more control of her overwhelming gifts. And the progression is interesting to watch.

Edward has always been one of my favorite lesser charachters in the series. I am glad that Ms. Hamilton has decided to devote a book to the development of his character. As a monster bounty hunter and assasin, he is certainly worthy of the extra exposure.

I also liked that Anita has gotten Back to basics, and the sole purpose of the book isn't to develop her skills through sexuality only, as some of the books have veered into that direction. After all, she is the Vampire Executioner!

Obsidian Butterfly by Laurell K. Hamilton (2000)

I love these series of books. Even though I have not read this book yet, I'm sure it will met my aspections. I purshased this book, because I read one of the later books. I was curious about how the whole adventure started, so I started purchasing books that I hadn't read. So I could start at the beginning. I love reading about vampires. GRUESOME BUT.......FANTASTIC

I love Laurell's vampire books. This one was extremely violent & graphic. Almost a little over-whelming in some descriptions. But Ms. Hamilton isn't known for her cute & cuddly characters.
That being said, I could not put this book down !
Her writing is fantastic, fast paced & action packed.
And let's not forget the subtle & not so sublte sexiness.

Obsidian Butterfly Pretty good book.

I loved the book just not as much as the other Anita Blake books. Jean Claude and Richard are not major players in this book but the other supporting charaters have very colorful backgrounds to say the least. Overall it is a good book and worth the time it took to read.Read full review...

Anita Blake..rocks..!!

The entire series "Anita Blake Vampire Hunter" is a great series. I highly advise you to start w/ book 1, Guilty Pleasure. Even though all of the books can stand alone to get the full back story you should start from the beginning.Read full review...

Great book

I'm really enjoying this book. The Anita Blake books grab the reader right from the start and I like the background stories. Sometimes the main character is a little too much, but that's her I guess. She worries too much. But I really enjoy this series.Read full review...
