I love all the scene selections, as they really do help the picture clarity and i love the ease of using the menue and setting the camera...its very easy to navigate and use, BUT, i have had many issues with the camera and its focusing. It doesnt want to focus, and this is the third one, as i have used the warranty, and everytime, after about a month, the focus starts to not work. I also have had an issue, now twice, when using the plug in power cord. The cord, after several uses, will not connect when inserted into the camera...i have taken the cord and replaced the connector tips, ive gotten new cords, and its not the cords, its the camera..deep within where the cord connects dies out over several uses and again, it IS the camera and not the cord itself or the cord tip. I am not currently fed up and not even going to bother with the warranties anymore and go and buy a new brand of camera...I usually love Olympus and always go for an Olympus, but this model needs some improvement!! I give it a 5 out of 10...but the warranty is super!!! lol.Read full review...

Easy to use Camera!!!!

I love this camera first of all because of the large picture screen. I also like the Olympus name. They take great photos. Indoors and out. Very lightweight. Olympus D-545 is VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND USE!!

This is my first and only digital camera and I just love it!! It is soooooo easy to use! I didn't have to read the manual first because the dial and buttons and on-screen menu are very self-explanetary! When I'm taking a bunch of pictures I need to have back-up batteries ready though. I use the rechargables and always have some ready to go. I still like the surprise and excitement of getting film developed from my 35mm camera, but I needed a digital camera in order to have pictures for my eBay listings. You can't buy this camera in the stores any more, so if you see one listed on eBay, you need to get it while you can!Read full review...

Great Little Camera for the Money!!

Camera is very compact and lightweight. It has a good size LCD screen. It takes a good picture. Definitely a great camera for the money. However, it is not top of the line. Camera does not seem very rugged. It also takes a while to process the picture taken. LCD screen is a little fuzzy. If you are looking for something more than for taking casual pictures, you might want to look elsewhere. If you are looking for an inexpensive camera to just snap pics, it is so far very good!Read full review...

Merely adequate

As a compact backup for a bulkier Olympus big brother the D 545 is a bit of a disappointment in comparison to the comparable D 580. Although the two compacts have nearly the identical specs, the D 580 is a better performer with slightly superior sharpness and color. The addition of an A/V connection and sound for movie recording are big pluses which are all missing from the D 545. A somewhat cumbersome menu is a common characteristic in both cameras, but not important to most users who don't know what the menu does. The camera is good for a beginner or youngster, but for a more demanding user the D 580 is the better choice. A check of offerings shows that it holds its value too.Read full review...

Great camera!

I bought this camera because of the Olympus name. I got it for my daughter who is in college and she loves it. I had an older version of this camera and it takes excellent photos in all lights. This updated one can only be better. I highly recommend it!Read full review...

extra camera for kids

I needed a camera I could let my kids and wife use. I have a much more expensive and more complicated camera I dont like to let them use. I bought this one because it was cheap and easy to use. It works great for them. The buyer I bought it from did not include a chip for the camera, that sucked.Read full review...

good camera, worthy buy

This is a nice little camera - great for digital photo novices - and one of the nicer parts is that it takes regular batteries, so you don't have to mess around with a charger for some esoteric battery type - I passed it along to my friend who is a photo novice so she could take snaps of her grands.Read full review...

Great camera for the money!

Got this Olympus camera to replace an old timer that developed an "anomoly" (took great indoor flash pictures, but all sunlight shots were compltely washed out).
This little camera seems to be just what I was hoping for. I know the Olympus lenses are high quality, and am getting great indoor and outdoor prints. Great camera for the money.Read full review...
