Inspiring True Story

The inspiring true story of Charity Yorgason, born with only a brain stem, who nevertheless lived 8 years. Though her functioning remained babylike, Charity was clearly aware and responsive to her surroundings --- a good argument against removing feeding tubes and the like from people who are declared brain dead. The book includes photos of Charity. She was a beautiful child who smiled and laughed often. Most books of this type are written by the child's mother; this one is written by Charity's adoptive father. It is interesting to get a male perspective on what it's like to care for a severely disabled child. Recommended reading although you might shed a tear or two.Read full review...

Heartwarming

Nice story! Heartwarming! It's better to buy the hard cover version. There is more story and it has pictures.
