Top of the pile disc spinner

If you want a player that is built like a tank, has superb picture quality and good sound, will play internet and home network content and has the best manufacturer support of any company, this or the 95/103/105 models are the only answer, in my book. While the bigger makers seem to build for price only, Oppo builds for quality and back it up. I've owned about 7 Oppo players. All have been bulletproof except a BDP-83, which had some sloppy mods done to it which caused it to fail out of warranty. Sent it to Oppo; they noted the problem with the mods and replaced the entire transport mechanism for $79, no problem. Works like a new player.
This 93 has been great on all media; I bought another one for a daughter.
I also have a 103D and it has a better Netflix interface and some cool features, but the 93 is a great option.

Best of Any of the Rest, no matter what they cost

It has the best picture, best audio sound, most formats to play and the darn thing is built like a tank to last YEARS!!!!. I have 2 of these and one I have used the heck out of it for the past 9 years and its still going strong. Easy to add the Region hack inside the unit so you can play Blu rays you purchased cheaper across the Atlantic oat 1/2 the price for the overly USA priced items. I use it for everything, blu rays, DVD's, CD's, burned discs, SACD, DVD audio, Flash drives, hard drives. You have not heard music until you play a DVD Audio or SACD of Pink Floyd's, Dark side of the Moon on a High Yamaha System. When you can grab oen for under $200 get it you won't regret it.Read full review...

Nice Multi-Format Player

Plays everything you can throw at it and sounds pretty nice too. I bought this to replace an older Denon DVD 3910 thinking there would be a big upgrade in sound quality. There was not. The Denon sounds warmer, more analogue sounding. The Oppo sounds very digital, lots of high end. Maybe the Oppo BDP-103 or BDP-105 would have been a better choice but, I have not heard either of those players. After some tweaking of the settings I've got the BDP-93 sounding pretty nice. All in all, a solid player that does the job.Read full review...

***FINE OPPO-BDP-93 3D BD Disc***

WIDESCREEN REVIEW...The Authority in Home Theater gave the OPPO BDP-93 rave reviews in ever aspect in the April 2011 edition.
I bought this piece based on W/S's review and on the fabulous Audio capacity and quality throughout with the BDP-93.

All Asian machines sound a little hallow with Audio yet OPPO does not, hence my buy. All BD Discs can achieve great Hi-Def Video Quality, depending on the transfer from the particular Movie Studio.

If others who may wish to buy this wonderful piece AND who are in to Lights and all, well, the OPPO has very small digital fonts on the face plate and do show DTS, etc and that you are playing a BD Disc, but again, very small fonts and No BLU RAY confirmation LIGHT either..NONE ZILTCH. I was disappointed.

Sony..Pioneer, and other manufacturers all have the Laser Like Blu Ray Light emanating from the Disc Tray or on the faceplate to which I think is really cool. Sony has the Best light effect, especially on the S5000es. And that Sony is High end.
I called OPPO and they said their customers disliked the additional light(s) and felt them distracting. So they removed on their subsequent releases. Bunner.

Well, maybe I am being picky but I was hoping on the Cosmetic Thrill with a Blu Ray Logo or a Laser stream Light when you Play a Blu Ray Disc. GO GIANTS Erick V

Great Blu Ray player!! Its the heart of any audio/video system.

I bought this Oppo BDP-93 for my friend - I already own this model and love it. So I'm comparing it to the unit I have.
Sound quality A+++
Image quality A+++
Ease of use A+++
Connectivity A+++

The only difference between these 2 units is the display on the front is slightly dimmer than on my BDP-93. Like that really matters.
My friend is in rapture - hearing his DVD Audio and SACD audio disks they way they were supposed to sound.

OPPO made the best players

Unfortunately OPPO doesn't make players any longer, which is a major mistake as they were/are the absolute best players out there. They play every single format imaginable from the very first one to the last series they made.This is my third player I own by OPPO, as I am collecting them so when one goes I have back ups.Read full review...

Grade A product, highly recomended.

Oppo BDP-93 proves it self in a good way. It is silent, fast to read up BD disc, and to top it off it has USB wifi.
Picture quality out of the box is oversaturated, and needs RGB temp calibrations.
This unit messures up to, and passing my Denon DBP 2010 in picture quality, and time it spend on reading disc. Sound quality is one other thing the Oppo does better than Denon, the impression of better dynamiks and better welded together soundstage.

To summit up the Oppo is recomended product, and I bught it because I read good reviews on this player. If I did not have a good DAC in my processor I would buy the 95 simply because it has a better DAC. Very userfriendly and intuitiv player that I Would not hasitate buing it again.

Not to mention the servise IMEGstore provides! superb!

Regards
B.

Still one of the best

No longer produced, as the media companies made Oppo change their design after this and the BDP-95. This player will play virtually all shiny discs, including iso authored discs. The 95 has better DACs, but costs double. For watching movies, this one is the best for the buck.Read full review...

The Oppo BDP -93 gives a true theater movie experience at home.

After reading many reviews on the Oppo BDP-93, I bought the 3D player, and was very pleased. It is an outstanding bluray player, that I can easily say it is equal to or better than my Sony ES 2000 bluray player of which I paid twice as much for. It was very easy to set up and with the reagion free capability, along with the pristine video and outstanding audio performance, I would highly reccomend it. I have researched many brands and have concluded the Oppo, although not a low priced bluray 3d player, but well worth it`s cost.Read full review...

Amazingly versatile player!

It can read any audio format you throw at it with superb quality. That's my main usage of it.
