Great reel for catching whiting
I have 7 penn fishing reels & this is my second 560 slammer. I pair the reels with a gold 2-4kg gold ugly stick makes for the best whiting bream & flathead combo just love it

The Z's were great, made in someplace called USA. I faintly remember that place. The 560 pretty dam good, the new stuff they're making in China - have to admit is good. My Z's are over 20 yrs old and still fishing, parts are still out there. I'd like to be around that long to see how the new stuff lasts.Read full review...

Penn Slammer 560
I bought this for two reasons, 1) my Slammer 360 USA was lost to a broken reel seat and is now somewhere in the Indian River Lagoon, and 2) I 'needed' a dependable BTB reel to handle Jack, Drum, Cobia and Kings off the Texas Gulf Coast. This reel fits that bill! It is paired to a 7' ML Blair Wiggins Offshore Rod and loaded with 30# braid backed by 15#mono. I primarily use live bait but trolling works just as well. I also put this reel on an 8' Ugly Stik Surf Rod (Old Model) and sling DOA bait busters and large terroreyz off the Jetty, works well.
