They are definately whiter, brighter and do put more light down the road.
I had spent over a week reading up on headlight bulbs and which were the best on the market as far as putting more and better light on the road for motorcycles, and everywhere I went to do a search or read a review the PIAA Xtreme Whites kept popping up! Still not convinced and because of their high price, I started checking out motorcycle forums on what actual riders were saying about what the best bulbs they'd found were the best, and again the PIAA'S were showing up all over. Not all the reviews were favorable but enough were so I bought one!
All I can say is that for me it was a night and day difference between the stock headlight bulb in my motorcycle and the PIAA. The light was on the road was beyond what I had expected. It was definitely much whiter and shined noticeably further. I'd give the bulb 5/5 stars but don't know about their longevity as I've only had the PIAA installed on my bike for a little over 3 wks now and I've heard that these and all high output bulbs (not just PIAA) tend to be short lived. If it last more than a year for my bike I'll be happy.Read full review...
