Older camera that can keep up with the newer cameras!
This amazing little older camera was way ahead of its time, it was first released back in 2007 but has staied the test of time, and still produces quality HD video. One of the things that make this little camera still relevent is that it was designed with three CCD sensors, one for each of the three primary colors, this adaptation also produces very sharp video and better performance in lower light situations. All in All If you come across a used working version of one of these cameras I would recomend your picking it up, you cant go wrong wiht this one!Read full review...

Panasonic HDC-SD1 Excellent 3 CCD Camcorder and Easy to Use
The Panasonic HDC-SD1PP is an excellent older model AVCHD. It has 3 CCD (Charged coupling device) sensors which keeps the jello effect from happening while panning. It is 1080i but still has a very good video quality. It doesn't have a hot or cold shoe, but this can be resolved with a c-bracket ($10) to mount it on. It has a microphone out which is a great feature to be able to use an external microphone. There is AGC (Auto Gain Control) that can be turned off so as to adjust the decibels of the mic to the level you want. Though there is no headphone out, you can purchase a y-splitter and use the audio out cable with a headphone amplifier from boostaroo and monitor it, exactly as if you had a headphone out. This unit is pretty straightforward, and has some pro features that I don't use much. The battery life is around 60 minutes, and since it is enclosed you cannot use a longer life battery. This is limiting in certain situations, so I use the dc power in those instances. Also, if the camera is on a tripod, in order to change the battery you have to remove it off the tripod. The camera is slightly awkward to handhold because of its small, round shape, but not too bad. An 8gb sdhc card is optimal. I found that when using a 16gb card, after it reached 8gb it pauses, and you have to restart to use the next 8gb on the sd card. I would highly recommend the Panasonic HDC-SD1 for someone with a tight budget. If you are looking for a newer model that has great video quality, and cannot find this model, look at the Panasonic HDC-SD90 which gets excellent reviews, too.Read full review...
