Lumix G5, great camera, but.............

I got one at eBay in 2018 - and a year later I am still pleased......however:
[1] the multi-function control wheel has failed - this seems to be a fault reported for this model online a lot. There is a work around using the toch screen but this is clumsy.
[2] beware those given hard use as video cameras - Lumix sold high end GH models for this role, with all the necessary heat dissipating tech etc. These are amateur build cameras, and such cameras have limited capacity such as shutter counts that are 1/3 or less of pro-spec models.
[3] early Lumix G's had a fault with the rubber coating turning "sticky" - again see the web-pages on this - there is no remedy. So check carefully
[4] some owners stuck "screen protecters" onto the screen - now a decade later, these have often aged badly and the adhesive has damaged the screen surface -- CHECK THIS CAREFULLY
[5] the kit lenses are not weather sealed - and sucj air in and out as you zoom - so they fill up with dust over time. Cleaning this is near impossible. Double check for this.

The later series of Lumix G80s etc fix near all of these faults - are weathersealed and have a quantum leap in technology over these early generation micro 4/3 cameras - but come at premium prices for now.....Read full review...

Small, Lightweight with Fantastic Image Quality

I have owned many Panasonic Lumix Cameras, all have been great and the G5 is no exception. Great Autofocus, very sharp images, nice to hold and fits well in the hand, thanks to the Updated Grip on the G5. The G5 is Packed with features and takes 1080p Video which is a real bonus, again the G5 Comes into it's own when using Manual Focus Legacy Lenses. The screen has been updated on the G5 which makes it a dream to use, Also it has TOUCH SCREEN Functionality which gives you the option to compose with the viewfinder and use the touch screen at the same time, which is a nice feature.
