A top flight lens, sharp as a tack and fast too. Leica quality images!

It's not an inexpensive lens, but the difference between this and say a kit lens is simply day and night! Sharpness is astonishing with excellent contrast and color rendering. The fast f/1.4 capability make this ideal for capturing a beautiful bokah when selectively focusing. This same speed also makes this a prime lens for low light photography. Bottom line is that if you've felt like the MFT format isn't all you hoped it would be, check your lens before you blame it on the sensor size because this 25mm will certainly change your mind! Are there cons? I would have liked to see the OIS feature to help steady slow shots and video. If it was a matter of lens speed or stabilization, I would pick the fast speed anyway. Some people consider this as big and heavy and I suppose it is for an MFT lens. I tend to view the size and weight as a side effect of the robust build quality and lack of compromise in construction. In all, this is one of my most favorite lenses, sharing just about equal time on the camera as my 12-35mm f/2.8, which is also a great piece of glass, although not quite as sharp.Read full review...

Looked a Long Time

I have had my eye on this lens for a long time. Was just too expensive. Found a good price here, better than Amazon. Very pleased with the lens, have used it for a couple of weeks. If you can afford it, get it. Clearest pics and great boket.Read full review...

great lens at great price

this is my 2nd lens for my E-M5 after I got Zuiko 75mm f/1.8.
thinking about paying more than $500 for lens that equal to 50mm is crazy (my Nikon 50mm f/1.4G cost about $400 new), but it is great investment. size & weight is perfect for MFT camera. Handling is great, even for manual. Picture and color is sharp, warm and has plenty of contrast color....

This prime lens is a winner for the micro 4/3!

I own a GF1 and recently purchased a GX1. I love prime lenses and will pay for good optics - there is no substitute for good glass! I own the 20mm pancake lens and the 45mm Leica lens (purchased in Japan). Before tackling this review, I reviewed my recent snaps taken with this lens on a Retina Display. This is an excellent product and worth every cent. I read every review on ebay and amzn before I purchased this lens. I am very very happy with both the quality and the price. The photos are gorgeous and it is now my favorite lens (more so than the 20mm pancake and the 45mm Leica). It is not compact, but who cares. Before purchasing, I telephoned the folks at Kenmorecamera - as I had no prior experience with them - and after speaking with an articulate customer service rep - I was sold. The lens was shipped with dispatch and it was packaged with care. This lens is a winner. It compares to the classic 105mm 2.8 Nikon for clarity. p.s. Картинка просто безупречная, крупные планы один восторг.Фокус работает просто моментально, цветопередача изумительная, короче работает как глухонемой, что видишь, то получаешь в итоге как под копирку! Очень приятный ручной фокус, безупречный. Вспышку можно смело в чулан нести, С двумя сто ватными лампочками в двадцати метровке изо больше 400 можно не поднимать, зерно отсутствует. Легкий и очень приятный в руках.

Best lens I ever had

I shifted from APSC to M43. This 25mm f1.4 lens is very crispy in focus and soft out of focus. Color is also nice. Comparing this with my previous Nikon 35mm f1.8. This wins in all aspects. Highly recommend!Read full review...
