Good unit with tons of features, User inerface not great
The unit is felexible, powerful and works quite well. It has tons of features and if you are patient you can explore and review all the functions. User inerface is not very intuitive. For instance, I want to know how much recording time I have left. There is easy way to get that simple information. Yes! If you mess around, eventually you'll stumble on it. It has a tough time dealing with bad DVDs and can get into a never ending loop and will not be able to eject till you remove the power altogether and reconnect. It does its main functions well and has HDMI, Front and back inputs and is a a small unit. The display could be brighter. Read full review

Difficult to setup
Since my used DVD recorder/player came with no owner's manual, I had to find one on the Internet for this particular model. The manual was extremely hard to follow in setting up and programming the recorder/player.
The quality of the playback pictures are not as sharp as on previous DVD recorder/players that I've had.
On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest), I'd rate this particular model as being a 5 or 6.Read full review

Panasonic DVD recorder
Product works well, but takes quite a while to start up. Also when recording from an external device that only has the yellow video and red/white stereo RCA connectors. and outputting via the HDMI cable, you get a popup stating that the because the signal is in SD, not HD, you should change the display setting. This gets annoying. Read full review

Overall good condition
The unit has some minor problems but overall works good. Just needed a good cleaning. I've used Panasonic for years and I still prefer it over other brands.

Nice, lot of features
Some people say to complicated to operate, however this is not the case. Folks need to read the manual, as most of us don't. Need a manual? go to Panasonic consumer site for a free PDF
download for free. This is a Digital/Analog tuner unit, which means it will tune both. If you have cable, or only OTA
depending on your provider determines rather you can get channels. This applies to most DVD recorders. Great machine IMO. Read full review

Performs well, fairly easy hook up.
The Panasonic DVR-EZ28 is a good recorder. It was easy to hook up. I use it mainly to record shows straight from the TV and the cable DVR. I've not gotten to the programming and editing functions yet. The owner's manual is quite lengthy and requires a bit of reading. This model can do a lot, but since I'm not tech savvy, I need to play with it before mastering them all. The remote is an absolute must have since most of the functions/commands are by remote only. Although the recorder came with its original remote, I bought an extra one as a spare.Read full review

Simple DVD recorder highly overpriced
The Panasonic DMR-EZ28 DVD Recorder has a complicated remote, a complicated menu, and when finished recording the disc has only 2 options. finalize or format.
I also have a Sony RDR-GX330 which is a much better DVD recorder. Simple remote, simple menu, and you can finalize and un-finalize your recorded disc'sRead full review
