Phillips Sonicare toothbrushes have operated very well over the last 15 years. I’ve had 5 so one could say the lifespan or built-in redundancy typically lasts 3-4 years. Only one has given up the will to live within two years,

Usual failures have been the same. That being battery no longer recharging & / or central toothbrush shaft losing its centrifugal force & so ability to operate the attachable toothbrush head,

Design: Difficult to see which which selection has been made when the toothbrush is in the mouth.
There should be a place in the casing for a small toothpaste.
