To Tumble or Not To Tumble?

I bought this hemming web recently to adjust my 5 pairs of cotton scrubs trousers when starting a new job, and needed a 'quick fix' as I don't own a sewing machine and didn't have time to hand sew everything neatly.

Application was pretty straightforward.
Measuring and prepping the trousers took longer than the application itself.

Fixing the web in place just takes a level, stable surface to lean on, a nice hot iron and a damp tea towel, with a bit of applied even pressure to help it bond.
Once cooled it seemed secure.

One thing I did struggle to find out online was if this particular brand could go through a tumble drier after a wash, so I experimented with an offcut from the scrubs.
(The vendor did kindly offer to look into it for me too but I decided to conduct my own experiment and write here what I found out)

I fixed a strip of web to the offcut, just as before, allowed it to cool completely overnight then put it in with a washload, on a pretty standard 40° cycle.
After that I put it all through the tumble dryer on the 'cool' setting for a 2.5hrs cycle and happy to say it stayed put.
I would say, if you're planning on tumble drying your garment after using the web, maybe do a test too if you can, as it may not stay bonded so well with all fabrics in a dryer.

All in all, I'm happy with my purchase.
The roll is plenty long enough that should anything happen to come unstuck over time I can just simply refix it.

No sew iron on tape

Good product, easy to use with good adhesion. Use it to shorten a set of nett curtains but could be used for other applications and supplied at a good price.

Hemming tape

Not overly impressed with this tape.
The price is good for the amount you get.
I used it on my sons school trousers and by the end of the day it had come off.
Perhaps it would be more suited to curtains or something like that.
I would recommend it for the purpose I used it for.😕

A great alternative to sewing!

Easy to use and very effective. My sewing isn't the best and the wonder Webb provides a nice neat line without the mess.
