The Boss Scores Hit After Hit With Darkness

Huge Springsteen fan. The period of this LP/tour was when I first began to follow him. I saw him four times on this tour including my first. The energy and effort was only outdone by the quality of the music and performance of the band.

This set caught my eye when it first came out but the price did not. I believe what I paid here maight be half of the original price at Best Buy. The studio LP is great but the extra songs are so much fun to listen to. I'm a music geek so the behind the scenes into the making of the record is a must see for any fan. And who can't resist the DVD of his Houston show along with some songs from the famous Phoenix show. They weren't quite as good as my favorite show from Passiac but the definitely rocked!!

I'd highly recommend this for any fan and even if you're not. Just getting to look inside his head as he wrote all this material is fascinating enough on its own. *****Read full review...

Darkness on the Edge of Town (The Promise Box Set)

The Promise takes a straight on look at Bruce at probably the most crucial time period in his career. Very comprehensive package. Having said that, this box set is more suited toward the serious, or, die hard student of all things Springsteen.
The occasional listener would be better off getting several of his CD's for a good overview, for the same money. I would suggest;
Born To Run, Darkness On The Edge Of Town, Born In The USA, Tunnel Of Love, Nebraska, and, Human Touch plus the Greatest Hits for the Streets of Philadelphia.Read full review...
