Insightful look into the tough world of stand-up comedy

THis film offers much. You will have a good look at Tom Hanks in his early career in films. And when I saw it the first time, I was blown away by just how talented Hanks really was, even when he was just starting out. You will be hard-pressed to find a better performance than Hank's as a supporting actor in a tough role as a street-smart, spoiled comedian. Sally Fields is also early in her acting career, and she also provides an excellent performance as a housewife pursuing her life's dream: to be a stand-up comic. Expect lots of laughs and an intense character study of a young man (Hanks) trying to define himself within and through the tough world of Stand-Up Comedy.Read full review...
