Not only is it battery powered as well as with a traditional connection to an electrical outlet, but you may also use a usb cord for both charging the device, and recording your material onto a tape in this manner. Used it to record in a large hall with the line-in port directly from an amp. Voice quality is excellent. Buttons are a little iffy and don’t always stay down on the first push.
