Great unit for the price, though some better instructions would be great.

I'd seen various Youtube reviews on some of the other ROSSI models so was pleasantly surprised to find there were no build issues (loose cable connections, gas fittings etc) with this unit. The only complaint I have with build is that the spool bay door is not a great fit and it takes a bit of effort / manipulation to open and re secure. The advertising claims it takes .6 - 1.00mm wire but the roller on the feeder only caters for .6 and .8mm. I have only used it for gasless MIG to date but does the job well for what I need.

Took me a while to get my head around the cable hookup and configuration and as many have said for this and other ROSSI models the generic instructions supplied are pretty useless. Mine had no polarity sticker in the spool bay as per the photos on the listing but this was pretty easy to figure out (this connection determines the polarity to the MIG gun). Connect Black for Gasless MIG and Red for Gas MIG. The symbols on the front case cable connections are a bit confusing though (both show a plus symbol) but the lower left is a constant +ve output while the right is -ve. So for;
Gasless MIG - Toggle switch to MIG, spool bay connection to -ve, ground clamp to front left connector
Gas MIG - Toggle switch to MIG, spool bay connection to +ve, ground clamp to front right connector
ARC - Toggle switch to MMA, electrode holder cable to front left (+ve), Ground clamp to front right (-ve)

The supplied earth clamp is pretty flimsy and the first thing I did was to replace this with a more sturdy one ($10 odd from Bunnings or tools stores). The ARC electrode holder is OK but if I'd probably think about replacing that with a twist type holder at some stage. The supplied helmet and brush are a bit of a giggle and these found a home in the wheelie bin.

Even with shelling out some extra dollars to upgrade a few things you can't go wrong considering the price of this unit. I would have given it 5 stars if it had some more detailed instructions.
