Good Game, a little too much like real fishing at times

It really is a good game, I mean it is not Call of Duty 4, but if you want a fishing game, this is about the best. Casting took a day or two to get down well, but the action is great. Make sure you keep the line tight, the result if you don't gets a little frustrating.

The biggest negative was starting with so few lures, but you get them quickly. GAMEFLY.COM has great reviews of games, not the greatest service, but a good place to look at reviews for every game and platform.

A Relaxing and Fun Game

This game is a very refreshing change from all the fast-paced (and nerve-wracking) racing games and "shoot 'em up" games you see out there. But it's not boring either. It's a masterfully-crafted animated wonderland of 500,000 acres of the world's best trophy fishing sites... these are actual sites that really exist out in the real world! In the game, you go out in a boat with a helpful guide, who sometimes says things like, "Are you sure you want to cast here?" or "This looks like a perfect spot.", you stop the boat and you fish the waters. The coolest thing (which I wasn't expecting and was thrilled to discover) was that once you cast your line, the game takes you underwater for the fish's viewpoint! You can see if the fish are near to your lure, or if they're heading your way. All of this is set to very peaceful and relaxing soft music and birds chirping softly in the distance. The motor sounds of the boat are very realistic. When you catch a fish, keep him on the line, and reel him in correctly so he doesn't get off the line, it's hard to remember you're not actually there on the water! With so many pro-fishing spots from which to choose, and so many fishing lure options, your virtual fishing trips and fishing results are countless. You can choose to fish just for fun, or to participate in virtual tournaments. You can keep each fish or throw him back. Good game at a fair price

I like fishing games in general and this one more than most. There are several lakes to fish and many types of fish. There are choise on pole, line and lure which adds some challange. The boat navigation is easy enough. The only neg is the size of the fishing areas could have been a bit larger. Overall I am very satisfied with this game and would recomend.Read full review...

Rapala Pro Fishing Is The Best Fishing Video Game Ever

This game has everything a fishing video game should have. Lots of Lures to use, pick different size fishing lines, and even a nice selection of fishing poles to pick from too. Catch Bass, Cat Fish, Crappies, Trout, Pike, and lots of other fresh water fish in TOURNAMENT or FREE PLAY Modes.
Not too Hard to learn and get use to the controls either.
Very fun to play and not a impossible to beat game either.

good game!

I bought this game for my 15 yr old son. He loves this game. He says its a little hard to learn at first though. He says the graphics are great for being a 2004 game! It has a large variety of fish to catch as well, which makes it more fun! This game is challenging compared to other fishing games out there! Rapala's Pro Fishing for PS2

This is a fun game, the graphics are very good, the game play is more difficult than I imagined it would be, which I guess makes it more fun because if it was easy then you'd play it once or twice and be bored by it.
This game is a 2004 release, I'm sure there are other games out there that are fun too. I'd buy this again.Read full review...

Rapala PS2 Fishing game

This game is really great. It has realistic casting and reeling, and the graphis are good. Having to catch tons of different fish is nice too. The whole game is not just about bass or just about trout. There are a lot of different fish to catch.

One of the best fishing games

The game is one of the better fishing games I have played since Bass Pro for Super Nintendo. It gives the player a variety of lakes to fish and a great number of fish to catch. The graphics are better than I expected for the PS2 and structure of game play is excellent. I guess I would have to rate this game the best fishing game next to the Bass Pro I played years ago for the Super Nintendo.Read full review...

Great Game love the Action

Very entertaining and realistic. One of the things I really liked about this game is that you don't catch a fish every cast. I gets tough on a few lakes and streams, but that didn't stop me. If you use a jointed lure for alaska, you won't get a bite right away buy try about 3 or 4 cast then they tear it up. Sometimes the advice your boat partner gives doesn't work and I haven't been able to hit him with my pole!Read full review...
