Re-Volt - Addicting racing game for the PSone.
When it comes to racing games for the good old PSone, the titles are limited, just in case if you were speaking about the good ones available. Re-Volt is an arcade style RC racing game that is more than meets the controller. Play with exciting gameplay physics and more. Here is my take:
Story: N/A
The game has a simple ans short story written just to get it into the market, but that doesn't mean that you don't have to buy it. Y'know, not all games have to contain a plot behind them for the game to be successful.
Graphics: 7/10
For its time, this game had put a lot of stress on the PSone. That's why the textures and models look a bit shaggy, but if it was not compressed, it would have looked outstanding. Unfortunately, the PSone's graphics processor wasn't capable of super 3D detail, so buy the PC version of this game if you want astonishing visuals. But these graphics I would say are, decent.
Gameplay: 7/10
Overall, the physics make this game an enjoyable one, for while it lasts. The physics can determine an outcome of a whole race if you make a single blunder, which makes this game quite fun to play with friends. The game's music score is nothing but techno, with trancy jams and beaty bops. The computer controlled opponents aren't really well crafted, so difficulty is a bit easy, which makes it easy to obtain all of the goodies, speaking of cars and tracks.
Replay Value: 4/10
Once you unlock everything in the game, it's pretty much a done deal. You have nothing else to do but to race computer controlled opponents in Single Race mode, fool around in the Stunt Arena, race with your friends in Multi-Player, or use the game's built-in Track Editor to make and race you own tracks.
Overall Grade: 6/10
This game is pretty decent for a PSone racing game, but don't expect too much out of it. This makes a great game for kids who like racing games. Pick it up and give it a try for yourself.Read full review...
Awesome
This is a great game! Lots of fun and it brings back memories of when I was a kid! It has a track editor and tons of modes and cars to choose from. Re-volt for PS1
Not the best graphics but it is a PS1 game. It does play like the PC version though. If you have a PS1 it's o.k. but the graphics aren't anything like PS2 game quality.
