AWESOME!

My husband bought RE:2 for me for Christmas. He thought I'd seen RE already. Well, I hadn't. So, I had to get RE!!! It definitely put some of the pieces in place for RE:2. I love the ending and the fact the RE:2 picks right up. I love this genre and RE doesn't dissappoint. It's sci-fi, horror, action, you name it all in one. Not to mention that "Alice" is a kick-butt FEMALE lead! The premise may be a little far fetched, but the plot takes over and you just have to go with it. I would definitely recommend this for anyone that loves this genre.Read full review...

lightweight with great features

The purchase of this item was a present from a friend for your child. Since the boy is the one who follows this saga of adventure. I also understand that the boy is a video game player and for that reason he knows this story for the big screen.Read full review...

I absolutely...

...love this movie. It is my favorite. I remember watching my brother play Resident Evil: Director's Cut on Playstation. We always thought it was so scary, so I was excited when I heard about this film (I love zombie movies!). Another reason I watched this film is because, two of my favorite actresses are in it. Jovovich and Rodriguez kick some serious butt, plain and simple. For those of you who love a good zombie flick, give this one a watch!Read full review...

A secret experiment. A deadly virus. A fatal mistake.

This movie means business. Quick disaster with a mystery to it, jarring deaths, naked Milla, all in the first few minutes. It keeps up the pace throughout. In terms of critical comments, yes, you don't really care about the characters, but so what? How often do you really care about the monster fodder in horror films? And true, it wasn't a literal working of the movie, it didn't take place in a mansion and it didn't involve exploring lots of rooms and solving puzzles. That's because it's a movie. A literal translation of Resident Evil would probably be really dull. Games and movies are very different mediums. I don't think some people here understand that. One guy said he thought the movie rocked but after repeated viewings he thought it sucked, and that's a video game player attitude - movies don't have to have good replay value, it's okay to enjoy them once. I only enjoyed Star Wars once, but I don't think it sucked, it just didn't have a lot of depth. Not every movie has to be Citizen Kane.

It was an engaging story, moved like lightning and had some excellent scares.

BEST EVER GAME TO MOTION PICTURE

ANY FAN OF THE GAME WILL ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MOVIE! BY FAR THE BEST GAME TO MOVIE TO DATE; KEEPING TRUE TO THE R.E. DIRECTORS CUT / R.E. 2 STORY LINE (AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE IN CINEMA).
EVEN IF YOU HAVE NEVER PLAYED THE GAME, ANY FAN OF ZOMBIE ACTION WOULD ENJOY THIS FLICK (AND LETS FACE IT, WHO DOESNT LOVE ZOMBIES?).
ACTION, A WELL MADE MOVIE, GREAT SPECIAL EFX, LOTS OF GUNS, ZOMBIES (AND ZOMBIE DOGS) TEAMED UP WITH THE BEAUTY OF 2 FINE LEADING LADIES: MILLA JOVOVICH & MICHELLE RODREGUEZ, MAKES THIS MOVIE A MUST SEE (OR FOR ANY FAN A MUST OWN)!

Resident Evil 2002 (DVD)

Zombies anyone? This movie has some great video game moments and remains pretty true to much of the original game story. The actors which were chosen to portray the characters did a great job of bringing them to life in the movie. This movie has some classic "jump" scenes throughout like any good horror flick, but they don't detract from enjoyment. I would say it's a fabulous horroraction video game based movie with a bit more seriousness than Tomb Raider and all of the flair. Quite enjoyable if you don't set yourself up for something different.Read full review...

Resident Evil

The Original or first of the Resident Evil series of movies. "Alice" starts
her ordeal in Racoon City when a virus outbreak occurrs in a lab. This
creates a "living-dead" type of zombies that eat flesh. Alice in this edition
battles a supercomputer, the zombies and a team of mercs that is sent to
sanitize the situation in Racoon City. As things go from bad to worse-the
two come together as Alice trys to find memories of the past to add to the
intense situation with the zombies. A great series of movies-if you like the
original (this one) you should collect them all.

Resident Evil (2002), Excellent Movie!!!

I had gotten this movie on Netflix and after watching it, I really enjoyed it. I thought I would be scared to watch it since I'm not one for horror movies but this has some really excellent action/thriller scenes with some "Oh My God..." Twists and Turns in the Plot. I wasn't even a fan of the videogames and I still love this whole Trilogy. I'm looking to buy the next two soon.

Excellent for anyone who likes the games, action/sci-fi/thriller movies, and a really interesting plot.

I Love Resident Evil the first movie! Its great!

Okay I am a HUGE fan of the Resident Evil video games! When this movie first came out I was the first to run over and watch it! This game I beleive is probably resembles closet to RE2 in my opinion. I see Rodriquez looking and acting somewhat like Claire! The elements are background also reminded me of RE2. This had the right amount of action and gore that I liked! (Especially the scene with the hallway of lights...best scene ever!) The reason why I dont rate this as high as I like to is because this movie didn't introduce anyone from the game. I don't mind changing the plot to fit in new characters but at least have Chris/Claire and evil Wesker in it! But besides that this is my favorite of the series!Read full review...

Best In The Trilogy.

Don't waste your valuable time with the second or third installment in this series. A switch in directors and basically lost direction in writing plagued Extinction and Apocalypse. While Extinction adds innovation as a new place to blow away countless undead is unveiled, the story adds in unnecessary characters from the game and basically becomes a parody of itself with the perpetual and laughable "kinetic" powers Alice obtains in Apocalypse. Apocalypse is a film that has been done before and a lot better at that. More of an action flick than anything RE. Then again, it's all about having a good time at the theater, right?Read full review...
