Nice Modern components.... but

This is a nicely built power supply. It's really light and keeps with the original "look" of a vintage power supply. It could have easily been the size of an iPhone charger, but they kept it blocky and square, which is okay w/me. it is also great to upgrade to modern power supply...

The only draw back is that the cord is extremely short when compared to the original Atari power supply. The original Atari power cord has about a 10-12 foot cord, and this one is about 4 feet in length. Dear manufacturer, please think about updating this item to make the cord LONGER! :) I docked one star for that... Otherwise it's a good back up power supply if your original Atari power supply fails during your retro gaming play...

Fat Power Adapter with a Light Touch

Replacement Power Supply for my old Atari 2600.
Also works for Synare Drum Synth.

It looks big, which if it had a big transformer inside of it would be justified, however it's a linear power supply so it doesn't have the transformer so it's very lightweight. The size of the adapter could have been reduced to 1/4 the size it is. I think it was designed this way to closely resemble the original Atari wall-wart power supply.

The power rating for this is 9VAC @ 1A

Excellent power supply cord length for playing Atari

I liked the power supply cord because it was longer. I hate the short ones so this one was perfect!

Works fine!

This is a much lighter version of the original Atari 2600 power supply, so I was pleasantly surprised. I got it fast, it worked fine and there were no problems. Not much more to say.

Perfect fit!

I needed a power supply for my original(!) Atari 2600 purchased back in 1980 and didn't want to use one of the generic adapters with various "snap on" power plugs. The Retro 2600 product is actually a bit heftier than the original was. It plugged right in, works great and looks like it belongs with a 1980s game system. I would recommend this product!Read full review...

Feels cheap, but works well

This plug hardly weighs anything, but don't let that put you off, it works just as well as the original and doesn't get hot like the O.E.M plug does. bought one of these for a Six Switch Atari 2600, and it performs well, it fires right up with no problems each time. I have had it for a few months now, with no problems. I was already impressed by their Super Nintendo AC Adapter, and impressed again by this one! Read full review...

Worked great and lightweight!

Worked great and brought 3 different ATARI 2600 models back to life! Love the lightweight and modern feel of it although I was skeptical at first.

It works

Well it works and it looks good for an AC adapter. However, it does cause some interference and I get fuzzy lines moving across my tv when using it. I can adjust the connection and get it mostly to go away. I have a universal power adapter that wasn’t much more than this that works perfectly.Read full review...

It works and just might resurrect your Atari

If you have an Atari 2600, there's a chance it only doesn't work because the power cord was damaged or shorted out. Check if it is getting hot or not on the back of the transformer box, and if it's cold or doesn't test as live with a wattmeter, you can fix that. This product does the job for that issue so you can resurrect your retro console for another generation of play. It's not heavy but is a bit big so it may hog outlet space, but it's just part of the spoils of older technology.Read full review...
