I was on a nostalgia train and needed this along side other art and story references. I really appreciate and love this series. The manga is different from the anime and both are different from the movie! It's one of the few shows that transforms each of its mediums. Always learn something new in each variant! I love this movie!

This has always been one of my favorite movies even as a young child I would sit and watch it over and over again. Now I am an adult with children of my own and I have been looking everywhere for this movie and couldn't find it anywhere. I was searching movies on ebay one day and this movie crossed my mind. I thought, I'm sure ebay doesn't have it because it's such a collector's item, and what do you know to my surprise my search returned with one movie of Utena Revolutionary Girl! I was so excited, I told my daughters that we would be watching it as soon as it arrived. Well we've had the movie for about 3 days now, and have watched it everyday! Thanks E-bay!!! Now I never have to go far to find exactly what it is I need. You guys are awesome for putting together such an affordable and easy way to shop! Keep up the good work!

A great summary of 39 episodes in one film.

The Utena movie was one of the most delightful feasts of sight and sound that I've seen in anime. The music was much like the series, a sort of rock opera. The animation is even more beautiful than the series. There is a particular scene, a night-time dance sequence in the rose garden, that is especially captivating. The song, "Toki Ni Ai Wa", stays firmly planted in your mind long after the credits roll.

The movie, while awesome, may be very confusing to someone who's seen only a small portion, or none, of the tv series. It's basically a summary of all 39 episodes, stuffed into an hour and a half or so, with a marked increase in the bisexual overtones of the show.

The special edition DVD's extras are a great deal of fun.

If it's a fun escape into a beautiful, artsy world that you want, then "Utena: The Movie" is for you.Read full review...

Revolutionary Girl Utena

The movie for Revolutionary Girl Utena was decent but not as good as I thought it would be. The show was so good I thought it would be the same for the movie.
