Glass like shine, easy to apply, and reasonably priced

I never wrote a review before for any product, this is my first review. Also, I'm not a professional detailer, never detailed a car before this, and never used other expensive ceramic coatings, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I recently bought a used red Audi S5. Paint on it looks good, but has lot of spider swirl marks. I looked up professional detailing costs and they are too expensive for me. I figured, I'll swing a DIY and invested in a flex 3401 polisher, lake county pads, menzerna compound, polish, and ABN clay towel. Though the initial costs are high, it will pay for itself after detailing one or two cars. I watched lot of YouTube detailing videos, but was hesitant to start with my S5, so I decided use my 2001 Audi TT roadster as the guinea pig.

I washed the car, clayed it, did two step compound, and polish and applied the rising star nano tech ceramic coating as the final step. My plan was to use the more expensive coating on my S5 and use the rising star coating to gain some experience.

I must say I'm impressed with the results on my TT after applying 1 coating. I followed the instructions in rising star's YouTube video. See the pics and decide yourself if it's worth or not. I can't vouch for the durability as it has only been 10 weeks since the application. Car didn't see any rain either, but I did a water test and it did not stick to the surface. I've also applied it to the wheels. One 30 ml bottle was sufficient for one coating on the TT with little bit left over.

Don't expect to see good results with out prepping the car before applying the coating. It may make deep scratches pop out if you don't address them before applying the coating.

Since it came our well, I planning to apply it on the S5 as well. It is my daily driver and with snow coming soon, especially the north east winter, it will be a great real life test of hydrophobicity and durability.

I'll report back in the spring if I can. Not sure if ebay reviews work like Amazon reviews where you can edit your review and change ratings if needed. For now, I'm giving it 5 stars for this inexpensive coating based on the initial water test and the aesthetic boost it provided to my TT. Read full review

Doesn't do what it claims

I've had this for about a month now. Clay bared my car. Watched videos and apply it it as directed. The birdshit still sticks to it. Water does not run off. It just looks like you just waxed your car. Water spots still stay on from the sprinklers. It is very very shiny though. That's the only thing. Get a better quality product.Read full review

This is an excellent product IF used correctly. You must remove the imperfections in the paint first. I recommend using Meguiars ultimate compound then polish the car heavily with Meguiars ultimate polish. This is the real deal, I have used other kits before. Make sure you remove all of the product I left a little bit extra on the front bumper and it’s a little bit thicker which I guess is ok for rock chip protectionRead full review

Pain in the glass to apply but it did a fantastic job on my srt 392. Paint is like glass and is as smooth as a baby’s bottom! My car got poured on and it still looks like it just rolled outta the car wash and still does 2 weeks in! I would definitely recommend this product for the price.
