A way understated synth. Best for your money
I own this, the Roland Jp-8000. I also have A Juno 60, Roland Hs-60, Moog Sonic 6 and Prodigy. I would have to say that I use the Jp-8000 more than most. This synth is very user friendly for even beginners and seasoned players. You can get to making your own patch and tones straight away. The presets are great to work off of straight away. And banking your sound is easy. I would recommend this over any of Rolands Analog or Virtual analogs any day to any one. From the WARMEST OF WARM TONES TO HIGHEST OF HIGH TONE... There is nothing you can not do with this gem. I would highly recommend having the users manual upon 1st greetingRead full review...
Roland JP-8000
Awesome (some would say legendary keyboard). UK buyers be aware you need a 230v to 100v mains step down converter and a Japanese kettle flex. Not a problem to get hold of. Also customs held it for about ten days before delivery although I believe this is normal.Read full review...

True Vintage Roland Analog Warmth, unsung hero of the VA world!
There's a lot of hype over VA vs pure analog. I think the JP-8000 puts that to bed! This board truly captures the warmth and feel of vintage Roland analog IMHO. It's a solid build, far better than the current S-8, JD-XI or XA! It doesn't feel like a toy, but more of a road worthy pro kit. Grab one! You won't be disappointed! Read full review...

Roland JP 8000 Virtual Analog Synthesizer
This is an excellent synth, lots of great sounds and endless tweakability in real-time...But it cannot stand alone. You need another synth or a drum-machine.
I already owned a JX 305,so them both together are well suited for any eletronica,Psychedelic,Trance, ambient or Hip hop-composing. I would advise you to buy another synth first,so you have some basics covered already.
Then buy the JP8000 to add the cherry on the cake,as it truely is a cherry once you got all the basics covered by another synth...
Nevertheless this is one man's opinion, but that's my advice.
The JP8000 is after all a wonderful machine, one of it's kind.

A classic!
Great sounds with easy editing. Wish it was 61 keys, but that is not a game changer.

Excellent Future Classic Synthesizer!
Whether you're a seasoned pro or new to synthesis, the JP 8000 is an excellent synthesizer. It covers a broad range of tones, from silky soft pads to ear splitting leads and noises, it is a very capable machine. The ribbon adds depth to your expression and the feedback oscillator is a force to be reconded with. I highly recommend this very useful instrument.Read full review...
Great, Great Instrument.
This is a great synthesizer for anyone who loves to program.
There are plenty of knobs and faders for sculpting your sound,
the on board effects are limited but musical and useful.
The ribbon controller and the mod buttons are great.
For a modeling synth, the filter is very organic.
This may be the best synthesizer I've owned.Read full review...

Super Analog Emulation!
If you are looking to add phat, gritty analog sounds or screaming and smooth leads to your stage rig or studio, this board will take care of it hands down. A lot of bang for the buck and more to it than meets the eye. Very versatile; Splits, Combinations, Solo, Arppegiator, Effects. Fun ti play. All around quality board for the novice or seasoned programmer/musician..Read full review...
