Great Strings!

These are literally the only strings available in a flat-wound that were the correct length for my latest build which is an Ampeg scroll bass copy. They are 39 inches exactly from the end of the silk on the headstock end, to where the ball end begins.
These strings feel and sound great. They are not as heavy or as stiff as the high-tension regular jazz bass set which is a larger diameter gauge.
They only have one drawback. As I needed to remove these and reinstall them a couple of times to do adjustments and positioning of parts to Silk end once it leaves the string exposes to winding of the core, and they break pretty easily when that happens. I broke the 'A' string reinstalling it the last time, so I bought another set and now the brand new sets on the bass, and they will never be taken off, for a long time.
I recommend these strings highly anyone wanting a decent STAANDARD tension flat without having to spend a hundred bucks for the super flexible Thomastik Jazz flats.Read full review...
