Good game that could be better.

Rune Factory is one of the most engaging and fun series in recent years. The mixture of farming, date simulation and combat makes a perfect and sometimes caothic combo for an addictive game.

Tides of Destiny is the first entry in the series to explore the potential of a HD console like the PS3, unfortunally some gameplay decisions and shortcomings affect the debut of this game:

1.- The combat was turned into a buttom smashing: Sure the series has never had a good combat system but this version is the worst of the 5.
2.- MOVE control (optional) is useless: Makes the combat even worse, plus other actions in the game are imprecise and tedius
3.- Some of the quest and activities are boring and repetitive.

Overall, the game is ok. But the last 4 games (Rune Factory 1, 2, 3 and Frontier) are far superior to this one. I highly recomend Rune Factory 2 for the Nintendo DS it's probably the best entry in the series.Read full review...

Better then the ds and 3ds versions

I really love this game and I think it's better then the others especially that it's 3d instead of the top bottom view like the others. I love the farming part its a lot of fun and I like that there are a lot of things that we can level up to keep us busy. The graphics are amazing there are some lag but that doesn't take away the game play experience for me it doesn't bother me I still enjoyed it. And I also love the dungeon design and it's still a lot of fun exploring them. Don't know why most of the reviews talk about how bad this game is or how unenjoyable this game is its a lot of fun and also patient about leveling up and the lags don't bother me and I actually enjoy leveling up its one of the best parts about this game to me :) overall 10/10 from me amazing game :)Read full review...

Bloody Awesome

Rune factory Tides of Destiny was awesome i bought the game because i'm a big fan of the rune factory series and when i found out that it was on ps3 i had to buy it.

As for likes and dislikes the game arrived a lot faster than i expected, also was cheap :D which is always a big plus for me more money for other games. The good thing about rune Factory is that you can do so much e.g:
- You can go around smashing monsters left and right
- The farming system is weird but its still really good helps you keep track of the many things that there is to do, also crops don't rot well least not to my knowledge
- I like the festivals the really give you a good challenge for some of them especially the warrior one.
- My favorite part of the game is all the exploring and fight colossal monsters with the your golem bloody awesome
As for dislikes ah well i don't like how long it takes to level up but that's really just cause i'm impatient lol takes a long time to do all the level system like the cooking forging etc could at least throw in and item that doubles exp for a day on the game or something really.

As for comparisons it was really good I've played rune factory 1 2 3 on ds and this is really taking a big step forward, rune factory is improving a lot and coming up with many more cool things to do or cooler ways to do them i recon so far this will have to be my favorite.Read full review...
