Paid for itself in the first try
Ryobi is not known to be a higher quality tools like Dewalt etc but this line works great. I have other Ryobi attachments like the hedge trimmer, line trimmer and most recently the leaf blower. It really makes sense to not have a engine for every job. I was a bit skeptical about a chain saw attachment would work with a long flex cable shaft. In 1/2 hour it did exactly what I wanted. I considered it paid for itself in the first try. I am using the 4 cycle engine. I found make sure the gas tank is completely full. I had issues with it running at the odd angle needed for sawing. It is the opposite angle of line trimming. I filled it up this morning and worked better than great. It was BIG fun. Don't hesitate if you need 1. I heard the Stihl pole saw is very expensive. Great saw for trimming and pruning.
This is the tool I need to trim the dead branches in my ash tree. With it I can reach and trim without having to use a ladder and a standard chain saw or a manual push/pull type pruning saw.. I use lithium grease to lube the bar and all of the gears in the cutting head. I also filled the bar and chain oil reservoir.
It cuts 6" and larger limbs with little effort.

If you do your own yard work (for me an exercise opportunity), the Ryobi line of expand-it tools is essential. Convenient, well made, and thoughtfully designed. Why did I wait so long!
I should have bought this years ago. There are cheaper units out there but Ryobi has always worked well for me and lasted. This saw has a 10" blade where most have the 8". Very pleased with this saw and do recommend it. With the included extension I can reach up to 12 feet!Read full review

Great concept
It works great, but when extended to maximum length it is heavy, I wanted the cordless pole saw so I wouldn’t have to pull out the extension cords, I have a prosthetic leg and moving around is tiring when pulling a cord. Read full review
