sturdy, flexible, good for a newbie!

this is my first sewing machine so I can't compare it to others, but so far it's working really well! I really like the singer app that tells you how to set up the machine to do various types of stitches for different purposes. threading the machine has been pretty easy and so far it's only jammed a few times and it's been easy to fix. the foot pedal is a bit touchy but I think it will get better as I get used to it. So many issues for a new (?) machine

Machine is much louder than other sewing machines. Product was supposed to be new just in a damaged box however needle and bobbin hook timing was off which was not too difficult to address. Then realized the dog feeds and needle timing were off preventing fabric from being pulled through as sewn, which was NOT an easy fix. Had to spend an additional $100 to get the machine “aligned” properly. And it’s still loud when you start sewing. Does not sew at a slow or moderate speed with the pedal - only fast. Sae great for thick fabrics but with some minor issues

I have been using this type of machine Singer/Heavy Duty last 9 years and it is a good machine. It can saw heavy thick materials. But as my previous one got older, it no longer could take thick fabrics and some other minor problems. It needs tune-up but it is not easy to find some person to do the job with reasonable price these days. So I got this open box new machine - which saw great but the position of the needle is too left sided (even i put it on the rightest position or middle) and it is not easy to fix this issue (factory set?). But it saws great so 4 stars.Read full review...

Great machine

Hums along. Easy to set up (recommend though that you watch a youtube video on how to do this for this model) and operate. The needle threader device even works. The bobbin threader is simple, but I have had a few problems when I try to wind too quickly. All in all, I am quite pleased. Have used it only for making face masks but think it would be good for other uses. Not sure how it would work with very thick fabric as it often stops when I am going through layers of mask "pleats." Very glad that I didn't get the cheaper Singer models.Read full review...

Just starting out on it, it does seem very good.

I had a regular singer sewing machine earlier. The stitch length of max 4 on this new 4452 singer heavy duty electric seems a little shorter than previous machine but I can get used to it. I will also be using the stretch stitch. New is a walking foot. I have attempted to quilt layers together without that kind of foot. I look forward to trying this walking foot now.

I do sew many types of fabrics and look forward to using this 4452 machine on them.

Trusted brand! Great product!

I grew up with the Singer brand and love this new needle threading function, it’s an eyeball saver! Sewing thru denim seams a breeze! Solid performance once I got it setup right. Looking forward to a long creative relationship with my new Singer sewing machine!Read full review...

Great machine. Easy to use.

A welcome addition to our house. With the new Covid-19 pandemic we decided to make our own masks as well as tidy up numerous articles of clothing that needed repair. The machine works like a charm!!

Singer Heavy Duty-Very fast machine, easy to use and good machine.

I have had my new Singer Heavy Duty 4452 for about 3 weeks now and have been using my new machine to sew masks to give away to people. It is easy to use and can sew through some " light " layers with ease, but not always with the different layers on the sides of masks after making pleats. That's why I give it a four stars instead of five-it does not always want to go over the layers on each side of the mask. Otherwise I like my new machine, it does take light layers of fabric. It is too fast for me, but I try to push down lightly on the foot control pedal and it works good for me. The speed and the noise it makes when it starts fast startle me always. Price was reasonable not too expensive. Shipping was very fast and arrived before the date I expected delivery. It's a good machine with enough stitches for my needs. Maybe I will learn how to sew heavy layers better with it as time goes, but for now I try to make masks without layers so I won't have to worry about it. Thank You.Read full review...

Very well-equipped machine

The needle threaded is really nice. It was easy to st up and start using. There is an easy way to run an alternate spool, and the position is handy and easy to use. I didn’t expect it to have that feature. The clear bobbin cover makes it easy to see how much thread you have used. This particular one came with special tools for button holes (foot and template), quilting guide, and a non-stick football for leather and vinyl, plus a walking foot was included. I’m very pleased with all of the capabilities and accessories that came with it. If I could change one thing, I’d put the thread cutter on the back, not on the side. Read full review...

Great machine without all the hoopla. A Work Horse!

So My Mom's 50+ year old Singer sewing machine finally broke and can't be fixed. She is devastated! The sewing repairman (3rd generation) gave her this machine info as a great replacement. Mom doesn't want all the electronic and digital stuff that breaks down so easily. So I looked around and found this on sale with the seller. It came with the extended sewing table for those bigger, longer, heavier items too. All the needed pieces were included in the purchase: foot petal, 4 bobbins, 8 regular needles, 2 specialty needles, 4-5 different presser feet, 2 spool holders, 1 spool stick, combo brush/pick tool, even fabric feeder, maybe a few little things more. Full manual is online; but comes with a VERY BRIEF "Get Started Paper". The innards of the machine are all heavy duty metal while the outside is lite plastic. Works great though!
FYI: If you want the needle position in the center, the stitch width has to be on zero first. That's not in the directions or manual anywhere.
