I had a Samsung galaxy mega already this is the mega 2. I like that when a call comes in when reading something it doesn't take whole screen unless you answer the call. My husband and I like the large phones because makes reading or videos easier and also easier for kids. Realistically most only use smartphones a small percentage for actual calls and for everything else this is a great compromise so don't have to carry an iPad or tablet as well.Read full review...

Less than impressed

I already have this model, which I love so I chose not to upgrade, and instead buy another one in New condition because I cracked my old screen and wanted a longer battery life since mine was 2 years old. I foolishly read the condition which states "New (other)" thinking it was more new than other... From the dirt on the inside of the backing plate and around the battery, I was clearly mistaken. Additionally, there is extensive wear around AND inside the charging port which makes me very nervous, not to mention the "new" battery which came with this "new" phone runs out TWICE as fast as my 2 year old model (same model same battery)! And to ice the cake... My old one that I purchased 2 years ago was ALSO used!! Moral of the story.. Don't fall for the deceiving description.Read full review...

Samsung Mega 2 good so far

I am a new in the box older generation hunter and I must say, I found the holy grail of phones. This phone eliminates my want for a tablet. Even replacing this phone with the latest Galaxy Note would be taking a big step backwards. Its big, but not too big and still small enough to hold to my hear with no issues. I like how the bottom menu apps rotate alone with the phone in landscape mode which gives it a tablet feel. I am not a game fan, but I downloaded a Sonic The Hedgehog game just to see what it is like. It was a good experience. I've seen you tube reviews and they claim of hardware sacrificing. For me, The big screen is vibrant, it has a decent camera and a fast processor under the hood. Web browsing seems to almost have no limits. I cant help talking about the size of the screen... I believe it is what compensates for what ever hardware lost it suffered. The phone is not fancy with funny curves and what not which makes it shine along with the 6 inch monitor. The battery life is acceptable and I like the fact that when the screen is off, the data stops, extending battery life. I also bought a nice Pelican case with built in screen protector at a good price. It makes the phone appear more sophisticated and it is protected from scratches...I had to comment on that just to advise people to protect your investments. Scratch your case, not the phone and look over the bulk factor.Read full review...

I made this purchase thinking it was actually "new"; however, it performs like a refurbished phone. I have it now. Will make the best of the situation. Battery to small

The phone is big enough to hold two battery packs. And the battery pack should be easier to change. If it had two easy to change packs then I could change one on the go and never turn off the phone. The phone works great, clear sound and easy to call. It does a very good job of playing videos and displaying photos. But when it comes to a word processor and typing, it is the worst I have every used. It is very, very difficult to copy, cut, and paste. It would be great if I could use the same as Windows short cut keys of CTRL C, CTRL X, CTRL V. I tried mine for about 10mins before I put the SIM card in it to see how it worked. Then when I went to put my SIM card in and I found it takes a micro-SIM card, my SIM card would not fit. I put it back on Ebay the next day and sold it. It really wasn't any bigger then my Samsung Galaxy Note I. The name MEGA turned out to be a big joke.Read full review...

Big screen, great hardware, excellent price

Very well-equipped phone for the price. Some may consider it too large, so it really comes down to personal preference. And, you will probably need a belt-clip to carry this because it would be hard to walk around with this monster in your pocket. The only reason to get the original Samsung Galaxy Mega is because it has an even larger screen. But, this is definitely worth the upgrade.Read full review...
