Spend a little more cash & buy a phone that has the more useful features...

I bought the Samsung Galaxy Y as a cheaper replacement for my other smartphone that had a shattered screen and was going to cost over £100 to repair. This phone is ok to make phone calls and get on the internet but writing a text is very difficult because you can't make the querty keyboard larger. You only have the option for a querty keypad. Fingers are too big for the letters and it's difficult not to hit the wrong letter/digit or two letters at once. The screen is too small. You need a special pen/tool to write text, add contact details or make an entry into the calendar, etc. There is no feature to have separate ringtones for each contact. Overall a very frustrating phone to use. On the positive side, the battery lasts for more than 2 days on standby and the phone is small enough to fit into a small evening bag. For me, it's been a waste of money because i've ended up still replacing the shattered screen on my original smartphone. My advice and recommendation would be to spend a little more cash and buy a phone that has the more features including the essential 'enlarge the keypad' feature.Read full review...

Great phone, great features but a slitch hitch.

The phone is really good and I like a lot of the features.
Check your email, surf the Internet, and check out all the apps from the market.
The only down side I've found is that the phone sometimes loses connection so when someone tries to phone you it says they can't be connected. The workaround is to restart your phone when you realise this has happened.

because i wanted a smart phone,i like that i can load lots of free easy apps,i dislaike it's very touch senstive and the typing when texting is hard, not a long battery life as i would have expected.Good smart phone but lots more on the market more upto date with more features.Read full review...

For the price, I cannot complain. It does most of the basics. Just if you like your apps, look elsewhere as not a lot of memory here. Also, if you struggle with tiny keys, get another phone.

Basic touchscreen phone in a compact body. Does everything on the net but at a slower pace. Great as a second phone.
