Decent so far

I got this after being used to the Samsung Intensity line of phones, first a 2 and then a 4, and this is pretty similar except with a touch screen, size wise it is a little bit small;er than the intensity 4, (just by a smidge) but it has a much better camera which I am happy with. A minor complaint is that I am limited to only 3 alarms with no apparent ability to add more, but overall, I've had the phone for a couple weeks and pretty happy with it so far.Read full review...

OK for people who are content not to use the internet on a phone.

Last of the feature phones - before smart phones, but with
many bells and whistles that newer phones have. OK for most
email checking, but not for internet browsing because today's
tech has left this phone's tech behind. I use three of them on
my account, but none have data packages. The keyboard is a
nice feature. Just large enough screen to enjoy pictures and
multimedia texts. I rate it 4 stars on based ONLY compared to
feature phones - not smart phones. Compared to smart phones it
may not reach 1 star...

GREAT VALUE FOR THE MONEY

I bought the Reality phone as I wanted a touch screen with no data plane,I don't need the internet.I do like my phone now that I have learned how to use it. The volume isn't as loud as I was used to with my other phone but am getting used to it now.My old phone I had had for three years so I really needed a new and wanted to try a touch screen and I really like this product and would recommend it to anyone who doesn't want the internet but you can also get internet on this phone if you wanted. Thank you!Read full review...

This phone is ideal for texting, regular cell phone use, and MP3 player!

This is my second Reality. The first one was stolen. It does take some getting used to as far as programming, and using the file system on the optional disk. But all in all, this phone will serve your needs quite well. I especially like the qwerty keyboard for texting. I have read of others having problems, but none of those have I encountered. I like the volume on both the internal speaker, speakerphone and headphones. Nice and loud. When I first bought the phone, I bought a BodyGlove for it. Highly recommended, as I have dropped my phone a few times, no scratches or dents. The touch screen works well, however if you have fat little fingers you could have some difficulty with some of the icons. Luckily, I don't. Overall a great phone.Read full review...

An excellent older model phone that bridges the gap between smartphones.

I used my U820 for almost 3 years. It's a good step between a smart phone and a standard phone because it has a lot of the apps you would use on a smart phone already built in. It can use Twitter, Facebook (limited), YouTube, email programs, and the net. It's only 3G, but it gets the job done. I loved the phone so much, that after 4612 calls totaling 349:48:22, I purchased another one. At this point, you can score one at a very reasonable price.

The only quirk with this phone is the touchscreen. It's a small screen and the screen gets beat up and scratched even with a screen protector. This causes some issues with the touch screen where you want to touch something, but miss.

Overall this is a great phone for someone who has never had a smart phone and isn't sure if one is right for them. Buy them up now used while you can and use it with no contract for awhile and see what you think!

Really Great Little Phone

I have now bought two of these phones, one for myself and another for a friend... she loves it too. The battery life is great and the keyboard is SO much better than the virtual ones... like Apple 3 or 4 G and the HTC Incredible for example. My fingers are just be too fat for them, but my hands are really not that big.

The Samsung Reality is easy to use with all you'd ever need for talk and text. I don't use it for the Internet so I can't comment. I wish the app writers would keep writing for these phones and not devote so many resources to the "smart" phones. Where is "Talking Tomcat" for our non-smart phones anyway?

I also wish manufacturers like Samsung and others would keep them current a little longer, as retail stores don't carry many accessories for it... IE screen protectors, etc.

Perfect phone for talk text and pics! Great Value!

My Brightside got damaged and didn't have insurance on it, so I wanted to find another Samsung for texting, talking, and taking pictures. The Reality is the perfect phone that matches its newer sibling, the Brightside.

Texting is so easy. It takes great pictures. Screen lock is very helpful while having it in your pocket.

Battery life is average, lasting about 2 days.

3 things that I find a bit annoying about this phone are how deep the memory card slot is, saved pictures sliding when phone is tilted, and not being able to use the OK button to take a picture.

Otherwise, I'd give this a 4.5 rating.

Excellent phone! Best of both worlds, touch + buttons!!

I have had this phone for about a week and love it. The transitions are great, the touch screen on the phone is very responsive, and you have a full-sized qwerty keyboard that slides out which is great for messaging. I had an LG Chocolate Touch before this phone and enjoyed its functionality, but the touch screen only lasted about 8 months before it stopped working so I felt that a replacement phone with physical buttons in addition to the touch screen was the way to go and so far it really has been. The 'home screen' is very user friendly and provides a lot of icons to navigate to directly. The voice command button is awesome too. The phone supports a data package but is not required so you have the option of paying the extra 10 bucks per month or just having an awesome touch screen phone. Plus, it was very easy to activate the phone on Verizon's network and customer was very helpful...which was a shocker since they have never been in the past and assumed they would be more rude since I bought a replacement phone off of ebay instead of spending money in their store but I was totally wrong and had a pleasant experience dealing with them.

I would recommend this phone for someone who is looking for a stylish touch screen phone who isn't looking for quite the android power nor the expensive data plan that you are forced to buy with it.

Not the latest and greatest but more than capable. Nice little phone.

I'm not happy! This phone has dragged me kicking and screaming into the 21st Century. More than enough features for an old guy such as myself.
I like the QUERTY keyboard; much easier texting (can't believe I said that.)
I even watched a youtube video last week. (I went and bought a 16Gig micro SD card to save videos and music.)
I found the sketch pad and sat in the doctors office the other day and amused myself "doodling".
My wife forwarded some videos of my Grandkids.(Also, some cat stuff but you can't win 'em all.)
Look, I know that there are 9yr. olds managing their stock portfolios online with their smart phones; I'm not any of those. When I was born there was no space program, heaters and radios were options on cars. Technology has advanced faster than my interest. This phone exceeds my capabilities and not only works; but amuses me.

Great Phome

I purchased one last yr & took it swimming with me. So it went the way of bye-bye. I really liked it but couldn't afford to buy, right away. Thus my 2nd Reality-6 mos later.

My first touch screen & keyboard. Fun to learn, keyboard easy to use, the same set up as a regular kb. Had to get use to the Fn, etc functions, but once accomplished, easy. Camera is decent. The 2nd phone-battery life is just awesome, up to three days before needing to recharge with minimal talk & fair texting usage. Good reception. A good basic beginner upgrade from a flip. You'll want to make sure to get a protective screen on as soon as possible, the screen surface easy to mark. Very happy with it!

Requires a minimum data pkg (with Verizon)$9.99 up to $30 for unlimited.
