Samurai Warriors 2 Extreme Legends

This game is set to be exactly like Samurai Warriors 2 but with an added mode called mercenary mode, and you can receive things like orbs to upgrade to your weapons (for example defense orb. equip on your sword and you get a defense 20 which is max. In order to acquire these orbs you have to go through mercenary mode which is almost like the floors in the samurai warriors 2 but instead of being in the castle and going through floors, you have to go through regular battles like at sekigahara and kyushu. When you choose the event you can select the Oda vs. The Azai and you are a mercenary working for either side, but you don't get the chance to choose which one. you can hire your own guards which are other characters from the game which they have up to four special abilities to help you, for example Yukimora Sanada has a special technique picking locks which is very convenient so whenever you want to charge a fort area that is locked, he will always pick the lock instead of you defeating the defense captain. And 100% of the time for some reason you have this colorful green or yellow somewhat flame around you to were if you run into anyone they are getting hurt by it. You can literally beat the stages with one hand by running into everything. lol. The stages are ALOT shorter. The least time I spent on one was a minute and twenty seconds. After every battle you recieve gems and gain money, the gems are spent leveling up your guards. And Leveling is SO much easier. I played with Mitsunari when he was level 26. after the 30th floor he is a maxed 60. Yes the level is 60 now not 20 like in empires and not 50 like in SW2. There are also more added characters in the game chosokabe, kujiro, Toshii, Katsui, Gracia(Mitsuhide's daughter, Hosokawa Tadaoki's wife ), yoshimoto, and Ramnaru Mori. The scenes for the story mode are the same, same places, but there are like 3 or 4 that are new from what ive seen. and there is more conversations in the battle. You also get to see a movie when Toshii beats Hideyoshi Toyotomi up through the whole video, The game made Hideyoshi seem more selfish in this game and somewhat evil.Toshii talks way too much about the devil Shibata clan (A little too Obsessive and corny) Yoshimotos kinda funny and useless. He has a move when you push r1 triangle he spins in a circle and plays dead. Its a good game a little disappointing since its similar to Samurai Warriors 2. Its easy to get used to. Another down side is not being able to choose the song you want to hear like in Empires. If you have a data saved from SW2 game, you can import that information onto the Xtreme Legends. To get all the other characters from free mode, you have to beat the new story mode characters (7 people). And if that doesn't do it, Import again. Hope this helps. Enjoy!!!Read full review...

Suitable for those who play Samurai Warriors 2 to sync

New characters have nice weapons and the graphics is just okay. However, continuous pressing of buttons can cause finger stiffness.

I think this is not as good as Samurai Warriors 2 Empire. The description was accurate, but SW2E was kinda what I was hoping for when I bought this.

What I liked about this item was the new characters that was available through this add on. the game play is the same as with the samurai warriors franchise.
