My Seagate momentus experience

The original 640 GB drive in my HP Pavilion d7 failed to boot just two days after had made a backup image of the drive. It was the best possible disaster scenario. I simply bought a replacement drive and copied the image to it. It is performing exactly like the original disk. That means it is reasonably quiet (I can hear it spin up but there are no other extraneous noises), it seems stable (though my original one did, too ,,, until it didn't). Speed? Well, it delivers what it is supposed to. It's no 7200 rpm speed demon, but it is exactly what I expected it to be. This one came well packed and showed up faster than I though it would. The drive worked out really well for replacing my damaged hard drive.

Had to start from scratch by uploading windows 7, thankfully I only lost 3-4 months of data and sales history since my last backup of just my files and folders.

I was unable to get on the net for updates to replace missing drivers, do to my network adapter coming up as (Hardware not detected) and need to download the Ralink driver. luckly I had it and found it in my earlier backups of my C drive to install it so I could get on the internet for all the drivers and software I had to replace.

But this drive works very well, shipping was very fast, plus is an excellent and outstanding eBayer.

PS: Remember to backup your C drive, Files, Folders, and Software right now, before you do anything.

your C drive will have any and all drivers you need to reinstall on your replacement hard drive, like it did before with your old or bad hard drive.

Good harddrive and can take abuse to a extent.

Needed a donor drive to fix my dead one. The seller was able to match all the important numbers needed. Other than that the first hard drive lasted about four years maybe more which is expected life anyway. Just wish I did more back ups. It's a hard drive and nothing to really write home about. It's not fast compared to others but was reliable and durable. Five days a week it survived public transportation and then running 24hrs a day on my days off for the last 3yrs.Read full review...

great love it.

I need a drive for a lap top, this one was just what i needed. so I purchased it. It is working wonderful.

I loaded an 80 gig image on it and have had great difficulty finding a program that will properly re-size the hard drive to read all 640 GB as one drive. So i just partitioned it in to two separate drives. It still serves my purpose perfectly.
