Good useful tool
Correctly used this extractor is an excellent tool. It is well made and does the job very well. I took out the two old rusted studs which I bought this for with relative ease.

An expensive paperweight....
A well-made tool that works, providing the stud you are trying to extract is willing to come out and not seized or corroded in place - in which case you could have used two nuts locked together and a spanner. One point to note is that if you can get this tool onto the stud in question, then you can almost certainly get a footprint wrench onto it too. If you just want something to grab and remove studs from working engines then its fine. If you are looking to remove damaged studs from rusty components then heat and the aforementioned footprint are your only friends....Read full review

heavyweight that failed in the field!
item is too heavy for use in even slightly confined areas. Here i had to use it upside down on an exhaust stud but the tool would slip from the small diameter opening to the large and therefore fail to grip; there is also too much "lost motion". Any tool will work on the bench but this one failed to help me "in the field". A small Stilsons and Footprints were more effective.Read full review

i wish i could find my 50 year old one rust and all it worked every time
poor steel steel used for locking cog, teeth fail or do not grip every time definitely lets down the brand

Good quality but does not fit my thin studs
The product seems to be of very good quality, although it is very big.
Unfortunately, the tool does not work with thin studs ( 10mm), so I will have to find another tool.

Way more easy to use than it looks.
i was trying to extract my exhaust manifold studs, tried repetidly with double nuts and heating the manifold housing, nothing. This tools is quick and easy, the only question comes in my mind is how much the sprocket that is biting the stud will last without being rounded, but overall is a robust tool and well worth the money.Read full review

Extractor Time
This stud extractor is of good quiltity if only a bit bulky in size, compared to older styles. Easy to use and holds up well for removing stubborn studs.
