Couldn't put down.
All Bernard Cornwell books are typically 'can't put down' reads packed with action and peppered with actual historic fact in a very readable format
Wrong title cover
For the price great - but the thumbnail picture was different from the book that actually arrived which was disappointing - don't get me wrong, looking at Sean Bean's face is a treat most of the time, but I don't want him on the cover of my sharpe novel so deliberately purchased this one, only later finding that I had been deceived - still a good book thoughRead full review...

Excellent series of historical military novels based on the actual events at the time. Start the series at the beginning and read slowly (nb. Not the order they were written in!)
