Nice Nightlight, very quiet.

My old Ionic Breeze might a faint "hissing" sound, and I could smell the ionized air. Not so with the new one, makes me wonder if it is functional. I will wait a while to rate its performance.

Spend more and get better

Don’t like the fact that the light is on all the time. Also, a little heavy for a regular outlet. If it doesn’t fit snuggly into outlet, it ‘tilts’ and easy for a child to walk by and hit it

great product with shorter lifespan

Sharper Image has developed an absolute 'winner' in their Ionic Breeze air purifiers. They work and work very well. The air cleaned by the ionic process is felt at the output of the appliance not forced by a fan but by the patented process these units employ. The air smells genuinely clean and you will notice this as the air is also slightly cooler in temperature than ambient temp in the room.
The S1627 is the weaker performer of the product line. I have two with one not working and the other 'fading' in performance. I believe these units are susceptable to moisture caused by showering which leaves condensation on mirrors etc and I believe that this affects the unit which uses high voltage charging wire and collection plates. Moisture may cause the units to indirectly short temporarily which reduces transformer life. I believe Sharper Image engineers are aware of the moist environment these units are placed in and the unit was designed as well as possible considering the tough environment they are placed in but life expectancy is not longer than 3-5 years in my experience.
This unit does a good job in removing odors and making the bathrooms smell much nicer and though I have to replace the ones I have owned for about 3.5 years I believe it is well worth it. Electronic Air Freshener

I've been using SI627 air purifiers for several years. They do an adequate job in a small room. I would describe the unit's primary purpose as neutralizing mild odors. Although its not difficult to clean, over time - a thorough cleaning may become necessary and prove challenging. The M.S.R.P. for the SI627 is $69.99 in the old Sharper Image catalog but, are usually available for about $20 nowadays. Ionic Breeze S1627

I love the way this little ionic breeze air purifier works. I have plugged it in my guest/main bathroom, and it just smells clean and fresh. Like a window is open and a breeze is blowing in there all the time. My family loves it too.
