Fit for Job
Exactly what I needed to plant bulbs in garden. Holes were easy to make and the release trigger allows soil back over bulb after without any problems.

Cheap, tacky and not fit for purpose.
Ideal only if you like to take regular disposal trips to the recycling centre. ( in this case,, applies only to the one which has the tag on that says SILVERLINE,, which this was.. There may even be copies of this one with a different brand name but possibly made by the same source ) Not to be confused with similar items of a more stable manufacture and that do not collapse, bend, fall apart on first use in medium soil conditions. Check carefully, the intended suppliers feedbacks in relation to these products before you chuck your money away.. Read full review...
OK for light duties
I wanted to plant crocus bulbs under the lawn. We have had rain almost every day for over a month, so the ground was soft.
After planting less than ten bulbs the metal under the handles buckled. The tool is probably fine for digging into a soft flower bed but it struggled to get through the lawn. I have reinforced the metal with angle brackets and I can now exert enough pressure to penetrate the lawn.
The tool is OK for light duties but the metal is too thin for serious work.Read full review...

Light weight Bulb planter
Yes it is very lightweight but also very flimsy May be perfectly suitable to plant bulb in a container
but useless for planting bulbs in the lawn
I had to get something more robust from a garden centre So I am sorry but I cannot class it as good valueRead full review...

lightweight but usefull
this bulb planter is ok if the soil is not too hard due to lack of rain but fine for normal hardness. My planter was fine when first used but one of the arms bent when used on fairly hard ground and needed to be straightend to use again. overall when compared with other bulb planters costing around £16 this one is ok.Read full review...

A great tool, a must if planting lots of bulbs
I bought this to plant my spring bulbs last autumn. Its much better than having to dig holes, its quicker too. Makes planting a hundred bulbs much easier than it used to be. Thanks

Don't bother
Absolutely useless. the handle is such poor quality that it bent with minimal force. very disappointing.

Good value for light soil
It's fine for loam top soil but not suitable for lawn or similar areas.
