Thriller with Horrific Details

I read Cody McFadyen's 1st novel "Shadow Man' and enjoyed meeting his FBI heroine Smoky Barrett, although she suffered a tragic experience in her personal life. What I didn't like was the torture of a dog in this story.

I thought I'd give McFadyen a 2nd chance and purchased "The Face of Death". He describes in detail the horrible murder of a family and their dog, plus torture of children. The basic story is a good thriller, but I think he needs to take a tip from author Michael Connelly whose FBI stories are great without such gruesome details. Leave something to the imagination! Love the Stormy Barrett series

Cody McFayden knows how to grab your attention right from the beginning. I love a book that I just don't want to put down. This is one of them!

I have read "shadow man" by this author. This book is just as scary,keeps you guessing.Smoky Barrett is great!

This is one you can't put down. His first book was great introducing you to the cast but this one gets right down to it.
