And I write only my opinion. The camera is small in size, but can solve many problems associated with photo video shooting. I just miss the microphone input. I am satisfied with the purchase.
Sony RX100 Mark I
Got this camera recently, upgraded from Leica d lux 6. I love this compact for lots of reasons.
Its very small and lightweight and the lens retracts on itself, no more lens caps! I like the way the buttons are arranged and the menu systems. It will be a learning curve to be able to use the camera properly. For now i will put it on auto or "div" mode and let the camera do the work.
It has a nice zoom ring at the front where the lens is and this can be used for different functions. I put a rubber hand grip and screen protector on which improves the camera again.
It has the large 1 inch 20 megapixel sensor so image quality will be great. These cameras turn up quite cheaply now and for portability, looks, design and image quality they are unbeaten.
This is definately the best camera i have owned, after 35 years of doing photography. Thanks Sony!Read full review...

Perfect image quality, but not very user friendly...
I bought this camera because of superb image quality among point-and-shoot cameras. It has all full manual semi-pro functions, but UI is not good. It is aimed at long-time sony camera users, and not for standard (SLR or 4/3 MLC) full manual camera users. Therefore many functions are hidden in menu or not handy to use during making photos. I compare this camera mainly with LUMIX LX-x series and I think there is one example of handy UI.Read full review...

Not all this is made out to be
Small capable camera but that's about as far as it goes, the battery life is bad, the handling is awful and to ice the cake the lens has a jamming issue on a lot of models. No matter how much I tried you can't stop this camera blowing out highlights even though Sony claim the 1" sensor has solved the problem, it hasn't, if you shoot in the slightest bright/dark contrast situation you'll have problems, anyone who tells you that this camera can replace a DSLR is totally wrong on all counts, even a Nikon 3000D can out gun this with it's shutter closed. In conclusion it's better than a phone...Just.Read full review...

Great Little Pocket Camera
Great little camera. Solid and mainly metal construction. Bit slow to fire up, but a good buy.
Great camera, great image quality and lightweight
Great camera even the older models give great shots, the battery life is also good and you can charge the battery while inside the camera, ideal if you dont want the bulk and weight of an SLR

Excellent camera
Great lens, although a bigger zoom ratio would have been nice. Very good pictures on the basic point-and-shoot settings, lots of variants on the automatic settings, but also full manual control of everything. High-speed shooting at up to 960fps is a bonus.Read full review...
