Extremely high quality, and great value for the money!
I was extremely impressed with the packing, and all the items added to this, cables, user guide, remote w batteries, all packaged like a brand new item. And it works like a brand new player, impressed beyond words. I bought this to replace an old JVC dvd/ vhs player, which worked ok, but the remote couldn’t eliminate the close captioning on my small video collection, which drove me nuts!
Not a problem anymore, but I’ve replaced most videos w DVDs.

This unit does not work. The vhs plays but no sound, the dvd will not open. I was not able to use this unit to copy vhs onto a dvd of old family movies for grandchildren at Christmas.

Only one con when you buy it used
I love this Sony DVD/VCR player, even when I bought it used. The only thing I find an issue with is the fact that it (or any other brand) won't play new dvds well.
