Small, functional, simple. A basic smart-phone with a lot to offer.

I downgraded to this phone as I was sick to the teeth with virtual keyboards. I find hardware keyboards much easier to type with. If you have large hands, the keyboard on this phone may not be ideal for you however.

The phone is very small and light, you forget it's in your pocket. A nice change from the huge display phones I've had until now.

Hardware specs:
Android OS v1.6, upgradable to v2.1
Chipset - Qualcomm MSM7227
CPU 600 MHz ARM 11
GPU Adreno 200
256MB RAM
128MB Internal storage, expandable via MicroSD

As you can see, the specs of the phone aren't great compared to what's on the market at the moment, but if all you're looking for is a phone for calls, texts, web browsing, internet, GPS navigation, it's pretty damn good.

It will struggle with memory hungry apps and games, so if that's your thing, avoid this handset.

The battery life is pretty poor with the BST-38 900mah standard battery. Get yourself a GOLD 2680MAH battery from ebay for a tenner and enjoy over double the battery life.

The included Android OS is pretty basic. One widget per screen is just silly. Get yourself over to the XDA forums and get yourself a better rom installed on the phone (I'd recommend MiniCM7 v2.2.1). The phone OS runs smoother and looks much nicer. The new rom may also allow you to overclock the phone's processor. Mine's now running at a comfortable 750MHz, and runs those bigger apps and games a little better.

Best compact android touchphone with slide keyboard

- Why I bought it?
We are all Sony Xperia fans at home .Good value and got it for my 13 year old son to take to school and not worth it to get him a new phone. He insisted on a small phone with keyboard
this would make a great addition.
I also have ARC S and the X10 XPERIA MINI which he likes but no keyboard and battery life poor and battery non-replaceable,while the PRO has good battery life and is replaceable.

- What I like most about it?
Keyboard, compact ,light, features and must be the best compact android touchphone, good wifi range ,sound ,Great practical second phone.

- What I dislike about it?
1.Vibration stopped working .I dont know if its because my son dropped it ,but only notice it after he dropped it!Didnt use vibration before!Did soft and hard resets and even flashed with same firmware ,but still no good.Maybe it was when he dropped it!
2.The fact that you cant upgrade it to later android versions.
3.Virtual keyboard keys are very small for big fingers, but then you the keyboard.~
3.The fact that you cant change the blue menu.

- Whether or not I would buy the product again?
YES ,definitely.especially to find out if vibration works ,hehehe

Xperia x10 mini

I bought the phone a few weeks ago and I really like its small size and that it has WiFi. Being Android, lot of software is available for it. I am not using it as a PC substitute, I will not surf the web on it, so the small screen size does not bother me. In fact, I bought it because of its size.

I don't like PC Companion that Sony offers to update software on it. It simply does not work. Took me some time to discover that Sony has a different software upgrade service as well that does work.
I also don't like that it does not sync with Outlook. Again, took me some time to discover how to do that with software you need to buy.

Perfect phone with some problem

Hello
Well, this phone looks like very nice, its comfortable. Easy to use and i can write texts very fast. But.... i don't know why i have a lot of bugs, example the lights of the QWERTY mini-keyboard its not correct, just the half area on light (so i cant see the letters in dark places). The most annoying thing, when i call somebody and sometimes the phone automaticly switch off the microphone so the person who i call cant hear me. It is really really annoying (ofcourse i not touch that icon on the corner with my face or ear to switch off microphone) coz i tried it many times why and how do it. The second thing, is just strange: When i plugged in to a power outlet the phone (if it switch on) start go crazy and it try open every applications even if the keyboard-lock system on. But if i plug in to the CPU (for charging) this problem is nowhere. Sometimes the system break down/frozen so reboot.

Snappy little model

This is one of the smallest Android 'smart-phones' you'll come across, if not THE smallest. Its palm-sized and if you have big chumpy fingers like I do then it just might not be the phone for you. In fact, I'm wondering, after 2 weeks' use why they dont make it in glove sizes so that you can have the one that suits best. All that said, it certainly packs a punch in what it does. Even my I-phone owning son seemed jealous after handling it for a few minutes. And at about one third of the price of the Apple product when bought sim-free, its really a snip! Definitely recommended.Read full review...

mini x10

i Brought this phone because my other phone stopped working. I think this phone is a great phone but i don't think the camera is great. You can't zoom in or out and it's not very good at night time at taking pictures. Apart from that all the other applications are great and talking tom that you can download off the market is great my kids love it.Read full review...

Very compact, many features, difficult to use and appalling battery life

This phone promises a lot. Nice looking ad compact, with all the usual android features and applications. However its very small size is also its undoing. If you have all the applications running, the battery life is about four hours - look on other websites if you don't believe this. So you have to install various applications to shut off all the features. Plus as it's android, you can't use the phone with Sony PC Companion to write texts on a computer, or use the phone as a modem. You have to install My Phone Explorer for the text facility, and Tether to use the phone as a modem. Not much use for a serious work phone, but ok as a play device for you tube etc. For me the worst aspect is that it's not much use as a phone, but I suppose that applies to most smart phones. It's good for texting though, as it has its own little keyboard that slides out.
But I would avoid this phone unless you don't mind carrying spare batteries and have very good near vision.
It's quite g

X10 mini PRO

Love it, does everything it needs to do and more.
I phone replacement, smaller faster easier to use and sturdy.

Battery life isnt great i get about 2 days between charges, alot less with heavy use.

Slide out keyboard is useful for web browsing, but the touch screen keypad is so good ive stopped using the slide out keyboard for text messaging.

Takes very good pictures and videos in all light conditions, but it does lack a zoom feature.

I wouldnt hesitate to buy another one, but i cant see me needing to as its been pretty reliable so far.
