The camera itself is pretty good

The main problem is finding mini DVDs no retail stores carry them anymore. Oh so the ones that take the tapes have much warmer colors and a bit better quality. The problem with the ones that take tapes if you can't get them onto your computer. So you must sacrifice quality to make it easier to transfer.Read full review...

Ghosthunting made easy and effective for beginners.

I'm a paranormal investigator.I like to try as many different cameras and videocameras and other types of audio and video equipment I can get my hands on.When you're attempting communication with spirits,you'll need a Sony nightshot or other type of infra-red video and still cam.The Sony DCR-DVD 105 is as easy as it gets,in regards to using the camera and viewing the footage after.Then,just finalize your disc in the camera,and you can view that disc on any blue-ray,dvd player or PC available.For a standard definition device,it's got a great picure and sound.I was able to capture a light anomoly and two mist anomolies,along with two E.V.P.'s(Spirit voices not heard at the time they were captured)in two 10 minute recordings in my bedroom.Yes,some of them will follow you home.Sweet dreams.Read full review...

small lite wieght, easy to use, no usb cable

i am very pleased with it. The biggest issue I have with it is that it doesn't have a firewire or usb port to upload video to the computer (you have to use the dvd in a dvd drive to get it on the computer).

Also, it does not include any software (except nero for burning discs) to edit anything.

This is my first DVD Camcorder. Pretty neat Camcorder, easy to operate.

One thing though - When you are finalizing and LCD screen states (Do not bump or move the Camera while finalizing) that is exacly what it means. I tested it out to see what it would do. It will not finalize correctly so you can play the DVD on you home DVD player.Be careful and set it aside until it is ompletely finished.

If you do it correctly and follow the directions, it turns out perfectly. Took a 10 minute video, set the camera aside and finalized the DVD and then playedit on my DVD. WOW!!! pretty neat...

Great Value - Great Performance

My DCR DVD105 Handycam Camcorder is continuing to exceed my expectations.

I like the "Night Light" feature best!! Recording in REALLY bad light using that feature produced amazing results.
<br>Another thing I like is photo capture..... GREAT!

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS RECORDING DIRECTLY TO DVD so that one can immediately play the recording on almost any DVD player.

I bought this for my Daughter for a present so she could record my Grandson's growing up. I like the compact size and generally easy use. I guess the only dislike I would have is that there is so much that can be done with all this new technology and i find it confusing sometimes.Read full review...

Sony Handycam DCR DVD105

I love this digital camcorder! The zoom is just amazing, but the really great thing about the camcorder is: you point and record, finalize disk and put it in your dvd player and watch what you just recorded. Then is you want to edit your movie all you do it put the dvd in your computer, no downloading. It all so take regular pictures, you can make a movie, take stills all with the same camcorder. You don't need a camcorder and a camera, this thing does it all, and it is small enough to put in your purse or backpack and go. I just love mine, couldn't be easier.Read full review...

POS Handycam DCR DVD 105

Everything is great about this mini-DVD camera until you try to transfer a couple or several of the mini-DVDs to one larger DVD. This camera is NOT compatible with Mac computers, nor have I found a way to transfer to a larger DVD with several programs on a Windows based computer. It has no firewire or other type of port with which to transfer to a computer, probably because Sony figured that since you were already recording on a DVD, why would you need some type of transfer cord. And since my Mac laptop has a slot drive, you cannot use a mini-DVD in the drive. You need a drive with a tray that slides out. Bought an external DVD drive just for the slide out tray. Did not help me in any way with trying to transfer the info on the mini-DVDs. Knowing what I know now, I would never have purchased this camera. It does everything great, except what I want it to do. It will be a long time before I buy anything from Sony again.Read full review...

got what I asked for but...............................

For what this camera was it was fine. My biggest disappointment is that I did not do my homework. I am in video 1 at school. We were able to edit final copies on the computer. I bought a DVD camera thinking that it was a better camera and did not pay attention to the details. This camera can do what it says it can do but could not do what I expected. I should have gone with the cheaper model because now I am disappointed. Just because you paid for the better camera does not mean that you get more for your money. My bad.
