I love this system!

I have been looking for a backwards compatible PS3 for a while now, they are all pretty high priced, this one was perfect and has plenty memory for the games I play. I still have the first version of the PS2 that came out, my dad bought it brand new for me so i still play both systems and this one allows me to play both and give the PS2 the break it deserves :)Read full review...

Fun way to adventure

During the week I spend my time either working, sleeping or commuting. The PS3 gives me a fun activity to do during the weekend. I can watch some shows, listen to some music or play some immersive video games having grand adventures. I recommend everyone have one in their home.Read full review...

Console good, controller meh, some games sad

The system itself is fine and works well. I think the controller is a but old and glitches sometimes with the communication to the system. My only real qualm with it is that- I haven't tested them all- but some of the games are broken/scratched. I was really looking forward to having deadpool, but the disc is unrecoverable 😥 and there's a game in the system that glitches out after a certain point in the beginning of the game. 💁 Read full review...

PS3

Really good system, it brings a lot of memories to me. I highly recommended if you want cheap games and a lot entertainment, even though it is 80gb (expandable) is plenty to play some games like Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls.Read full review...

Good lifespan, make sure you know where you're buying from

This model (80gb) is indeed backwards compatible and wonderful to use. I utilized mine at least 10 hours a day from 2007-2012 when it just died on me due to overheating, which seems to be a common problem for all the older models. I don't recommend buying this used or refurbished without insurance, I don't trust anyone with them unless you are the primary owner. Personally, I'm very disappointed it died, thought considering my usage it had a wonderful run. I would like to invest in a NEW factory sealed one one day in the future when I can afford it as I am sure Sony will not be bringing back this option in PS4. The network offers MOST of the old schools games now, so if you are an old school gamer and still would like a great up to date console that can play back all your old games and then some, this is the console to go with.Read full review...

Perfect system

I love my new console! The graphics are wonderful, and the system plays very well. I'm enjoying the variety of games that came out for the Playstation 3.The only thing that was wrong with the items I got was that the joystick on the controller would sometimes became sticky, but it was easy to unstick. I was surprised that the hookup was HDMI instead of AV so that's something to pay attention to.Read full review...

The PS3 Legacy

I owned one several years ago, though traded it in, in favor of PC gaming. Since that time, I've had a bit of regret, and now decided to come back to the PS3. This particular unit, the CECHL01, was the last version of the "fat" system. I chose this, versus the slim, due to some chatter about overheating issues. The fat system, may have not been much different, but in the case of the model I purchased, it was likely due to user apprehension of cleaning it. After I received the unit, I started it up and it worked fine, but succumbed to heat pretty quick. Since the warranty has long since expired, I carefully opened up the unit to discover what could be perceived as 11 years of dust and grime. After using one and a half cans of compressed air, a couple of microfiber cloths, alcohol wipes and q-tips, I got this console nearly back to new condition. Since it was torn down to the heatsinks, I took the opportunity to re-paste the chips, and overall, this cleaning and maintenance has improved the cooling and performance. While the unit is not backwards compatible, it still had quite a lot of great titles to play. There was some time taken to update the system and the titles to 2020 standards, and happily, this system is still a strong contender for retro gaming.Read full review...

Vita, king of handhelds

I love my Vita. The lcd is amazing, the unit is comfortable to hold, and its built to last. The battery lasts a very long time before needing to be charged. Love the cross play games that I can play on my PS4 and my Vita. I haven't touched my 3DS again after getting this!Read full review...

All positives

Arrived in good time. No problems with the machine except that it can be addictive. I’m a “senior citizen” who has spent a lot of time with computer games, and enjoy using the ps3. The controller seems far easier to use than I had imagined, even with my old arthritic hands.Read full review...

Great console, kind of hefty.

Very cool system, I've started playing some of the classics. The games work great. Kind of disappointed I can't use my Steelseries Arctis 7 headset without an adapter, but I made it work.
