Nice lens. Glad I got it for the open box price. Good sharp image. Easy to use. Have it on my Sony A6000. When attached to the camera it has just a bit of wiggle play. Not much but it's there. Doesn't effect the image at all. Wish it had a tripod attachment on the lens. Gets a bit to heavy for the attachment on the camera...balance is off making it more difficult to adjust ball head on subject. Great for wildlife shots and small enough to make it comfortable when hiking. On the cropped sensor of my Sony camera it makes it from 300mm to a 450mm at its top end. Much easier to carry around than my Nikon with a 500mm lens. I gave it a 4star because it should fit a bit tighter and lack of tripod attachment. Other than that I like it and am getting some great shots. Read full review...

It's a very decent zoom, not awesome though.

Good zoom, above average for sure. I wouldn't call it awesome though.
It is sharp, but not super sharp, it has average bokeh, overall picture is always somewhat flat, lacking 3d flavor to it. It is not bad by any means, but at a price of $1100-$1200 I would expect a bit better.

I came from FUJI system and was heavily using Fujifilm XF 55-200mm f/3.5-4.8 R LM OIS Lens. It's pretty much equivalent of Sony SEL70300G on APSC sensor. In my opinion it delivered better picture for half the price of SEL70300G.

I do like fit and finish of SEL70300G. It is well done and feels solid.

I'm still working with this lens to see if it will do the job I need it to do.

Frankly, I'm still working with this lens to see if it will really do the job. Sharpness is what I'm after and so far the jury is still out on this one. I hope it will turn out to be as good as the Canon "L" series lenses I've used. If so, I'd rate it as 5 Stars. I've taken a few "test" shots with it to date and it's "OK" but not great. I'll keep shooting and I hope it morphs into a 5.Read full review...

Great quality, but large lens.

The lens seems to be great quality lens, as expected from a Sony G Series lens. It is a large and heavy lens.

Very Good quality for the price.

This lens has a very useful range and the pictures are sharp on my A7III. Great lens for the money. Really not meant for low light use.

Sony A7II and the 70-300 make an unbeatable pair!!

This lens is every bit as sharp as my old Nikon 70-200 f2.8 and one hell of a lot lighter. I should have moved to the Sony A7 series a long time ago, but I had to wait until the Sony A7II came into the price range where I could sell ALL of my Nikon stuff to get it with the 28-70, this 70-300, the battery pack and the Nissin i60A flash and have money left over...best move this 70-year old 50-year experience (started in Vietnam), somewhere between-amateur-and-enthusiast photographer ever made. Image stabilization in both the body and the lens is unmatched by any other manufacturer, in my estimation. My club cohorts are going to be astounded (because I ever moved from Nikon) and very envious (when they see the IQ this pair produces).Read full review...

Good alternative to Sony SEL70200 G lens.

A good cost effective, but not cheap, choice for all around lens with sharp photos all the way to 300mm. The lens does not come with a tripod collar, an extra expense to add.

Really nice multi-purpose zoom

Great zoom lens, especially with APS-C sensor on the a6X00 series cameras. Works brilliantly for sports. Very sharp above f 6.3 or so. Wish it was a little brighter and less heavy, but for under $1,000 it is a great buy.Read full review...
