A great idea… But…

First of all, thank you for getting it to me in a timely manner. It was in its original box had everything that was needed and looked brand new. Luckily, I had done a lot of reading, investigating of this machine before I purchased it. It is not something that you can get on one day and take out and use immediately. You definitely need to spend some time on it to understand what’s needed to make it work. I would also advise having a sound person run it, if you are in a band because there are things that happened and if you’re playing a guitar solo you cannot easily step over and tweak the machine. Yes, it allows you to utilize iPads and every member of the band is able to have their own mix up to 10 iPads but I think the implementation would require practice. I am thinking that we will be practicing and performing many times with this before we actually have a really good mix but that is the nature of the beast and making changes, especially with new technology is what you have to do. I love the design and implementation utilizing the web design is a great idea. Just remember that it is not the Internet, it is it’s own website, so you are not able to connect to the World Wide Web. You are on only a part of it. The part that is connected to the actual board. I would suggest using another physical router because at recent gigs without a freestanding router it dropped out four or five times but when I connected it with the router it has been almost perfect all night long. It is a great idea but I do always carry an analog mixer with me to all of my gigs still, just in case…Read full review...

It is a great board that will get the Job done well.

We have been using the Ui24s and the UI16s for our church services, outreaches, concerts and studio performances. They provide an exceptional sound for reasonable cost. This is especially so when you don't have supper experienced sound people. This does not mean it is a slouch for those who have some experience. They come with a lot of bells and whistles usually found in higher end boards.
The only big criticism I have is that the onboard WIFI is week, and often drops regardless of channel settings. However, most other boards of this type seem to have similar problems. Best to use independent router when possible.

Other than that the UI24 is a very good system that will get the job done and done well.

Great piece of gear. It has everything, including the kitchen sink!

I wish I could have checked "Yes and No" above on the "Is it easy to use?" question. Getting up and running on the internal hotspot for a basic mix of a 4 or 5 piece band w/dynamic mikes and/or few DI boxes is pretty straightforward. Finding, getting into, and operating the several advanced features of this unit requires a fair amount of hands-on study. The owners manual could do a better job of explaining some of the acronyms and abbreviations it makes frequent reference to. All that said, once you are "in" and get this unit really working, it has amazing capabilities!

Pros: Great bang for the buck
One small unit replaces several large ones
Thoughtfully designed, build quality appears solid

Cons: Initial learning curve can be quite steep
Other than the internal hotspot, external router setup can be a pain
Owners manual could be more complete and detailed

A Powerful Tool

Having owned many many mixers, from small format to large console I can confidently state that this mixer provides the same levels of mix ability and routing of mixers in the $10-20k range of price point. And even then you typically don't find recording capabilities included in that package. Are the Studer-designed preamps the best ever? No. A Studer-made preamp is usually $1k alone. What I'm saying is while this box has a great great deal of powerful features (AFS2)(VCAs)(MATRIX)
AND can function as a stand alone multitrack recorder also a 2TRK main mix recorder AND it can function as a DAW I/O box.....ANDAnDAND! Sure a separate piece of rack gear(or 3) can get you each of these other functionalities but then efx, comps, gates, desserts, 31 band eqs with HP & LP filters......24 rack spaces are full, not to mention all the cabling interconnects to spaghetti the rear of the rack.
For the $1100.00 price point you get a WORLD of powerful tools that in a pinch can be controlled by your phone if nothing else.
Just needs an HTML5 browser and WIFI.

I previously bought the Ui16 and I can say that the $400 I spent on it was over 1/3 the way toward the UI24R. Other than the similar outside appearance, the differences in power, quality and flexibility are factors of scale different. I Loooooooooove my analog gear! Dont get me wrong. It's quicker and because it is many components to the whole, short of a natural disaster, it can continue to function around a faulty piece of kit or two. While I do fear a massive failure, my analog back-breaking gear is going to mix closer to home for the forseeable future.

Very good digital consol, with great features.

I'm new with digital consol and this one was easy to drive. The consol can do a lot more than I think.

Under Rated!!

This mixer is well above the rest in the field in my humble opinion !! Been running live FOH since 1994... love my old analog gear. But needed something to run a new EIM rig I’m putting together for a band I’m working with and on a “budget”. This mixer layout has to be the cleanest layout I’ve used in this crowded field! Price was my original driver, then I realized it has true Lexicon effects and dbx comps... same as in my old rack... this thing sounds amazing!! Recommend to anyone looking for a bad-ass digital rack mixer!Read full review...

Solid 20-ch digital mixer with a great user interface.

Interface is very intuitive. Web server based control surface is a big advantage over app-based designs. So far has proved to reliable under fire in both rehearsal and live gig situations.

Quality mixer

Absolutely love it. So much bang for the buck. This mixer combines basic mixer functions with EQ, compression and gate, along with parametric EQ on outputs. It has a good clean sound.

Overheating

after 15 minutes of operation console is overheating and the sound disappears. Most likely this is due to poor-quality Chinese assembly, which stupidly forgot to grease the processor thermal grease and turn on the cable for usb.Read full review...
