Better than the origional spectrobes!
I like that this game is many times easier to play then the origional spectrobes. Tutorials show you how to do everything from excavation, to battling. As the game goes, it explains everything you need to know, in simple terms, and its format is easy to use, the menus are simple, and easy to navagate, spectrobes are easier to find and excavate, and easy to awaken, organize, and raise.
Battling is simple, with the "A" button being a simple attack, the "B" button being a special attack, and the "Y" button being a combo attack. Simple and strait forwards. :) Best spectrobes, yet!Read full review...
Dont be scared, it may seem geeky but its great!
I played the orginal as my first game for my DS, its use of the console is brill. But this new one ' Beyond the portals' Pushes it to its limits. With an all new graphic and layout sceme this looks better than ever, and being a hardcore gamers, probably the best graphics on the DS i have ever seen. Alot of people have compared it to 'Pokemon' and yes its collect 'em features of battling monsters is similar, but it is a whole new ride. With excavating fossils, then awaking them with your voice, feeding them, petting them and fighting with them... in a sad way you get kind of connected with them! In this knew game, the have DOUBLED the amount if spectrobes to collect, some you have to dig up and train, others you have to place a card in the touch screen and input secret codes to be able to claim them. The addition of DARK SPECTROBES sounds cool but... kinda rip off... same spectrobes just coloured black... no different really. But the rest of the new ones are well designed and each fight in a unique way. If you have played the first, YOU NEED to get this game, if you havent played the first it will still make sense... monsters from years ago, trained to fight evil creatures called Krawl. Simple. OH and if you were dissapointed by the fact if no real story in the first sept a load of evil slime monsters, you wont be disapointed. Not the most original story but a story all the more, with plenty of conversation and boss fights. Well worth a try!Read full review...

Surprising fun from Disney not only for the young ones.
For an older, Disney title, Spectrobes: Beyond The Portals has surprising potential and depth. Despite some minor camera controls and slow transitions between dialogue sequences, there is a lot of fun and enjoyment to be had. Trading and battling with friends is also capable. With some better development this series could take off and compete well with the likes of Pokemon.Read full review...

Spectrobes beyond the portal?
This game is fun at first but it gets kind of repetitive you'll consistently be digging for minerals and fighting monsters.
This game sis like the Disney version of Pokemon but i8nstead of catching them with poke-balls you have to dig them out
but overall this game is fun for like little children or maybe older i got this game and getting quickly getting bored of it cus u constantly do the same thing over and over again go. you go from one planet to the next fighting monsters and digging up fossilsRead full review...
