If you like Morning of the Earth, you should like this

Spirit of Akasha is promoted as 'celebrating Morning of the Earth.' Well having grown up with the film and music soundtrack from Morning of the Earth, I may be somewhat biased, or perhaps I just need to give Spirit of Akasha more time to grow on me. It is not that I dislike the album, fat from it. I don't believe however that it captures the feel, the lifestyle and times of Morning of the Earth. Yes, Spirit of Akasha is a more 'modern' take and it has a more 'modern' feel to it, notwithstanding its obvious stated intent to celebrate Morning of the Earth. Do I recommend this album, most definitely, but with the proviso that it is perhaps more an evolvement of Morning of the earth, rather than an extension of it. If you are a fan of the album Morning of the Earth (re-imagined), then you will find that some of the artists who appear on that album (a rendition of the soundtrack songs from Morning of the Earth) also make an appearance on Spirit of Akasha. In the end I guess all three albums go hand in hand, so why not own all three as I do.Read full review...
