Excellent timer for swimming. Never fogs and water never gets inside.

I swim 1/2 mile every day. I'm 65 years-old; so am glad to have some support when I have to remember how many repetitions I've done, so far.

I put this on the middle finger of my left hand and press it after each repetition.

I do many things which cause my hand to be completely underwater all the time (like use foam dumb-bells) and this counter never gets water inside it no matter how much my hand is underwater. I've never had it fogs-up and its real easy to see.

I got one which was 'out of box' for less than I would have paid for a new one. They're about $30; which isn't cheap... but it's still worth it.

The alternative is to get a wooden slide that has beads on it like an abacus. That's what another guy uses to count his laps. I wouldn't do that.

Moral of the story is... I love it.

not for old eyes

I am 62 years old and I love the freedom this gave me from counting in my head. Sadly, I can't see the numbers on the screen unless I quit swimming and pull up to read it out of the water. The numbers aren't dark enough or large enough. Perhaps younger eyes do better with it.Read full review...

Simple device, does the job.

Not any other purchase options, so hard to say if a good value. This purchase is replacement for identical model that lasted about 5 years before band cracked apart and display going dead. TBD how long battery lasts. Had some difficulty resetting to zero upon first uses. Does the job. I like that it has an affirmative click-feel when the button is pressed so I know the lap was counted. would be great if it is made an audible beep too.Read full review...

Does the job

I have just purchased this lap counter ring and only used it for a couple of times so this review is based on that use. I use this when I swim to count laps. It serves its purpose well. Appears to be accurate. The button that is used to tick off number of laps is easy to use and positioned so it is easy to find. I like that it does only lap counting. I have had other rings that do multiple things and since I only use it for lap counting I do not have to deal with what mode it is in. I think the price of $35 is outrageous. Given my experience with other rings and based on previous reviews I have read, I expect it to last about one year and then have to buy another. However, it is better than placing little plastic charms at one end of the pool and using those to count laps which I have actually done in the past. It is just one of those things that if you need it or really like using it, you pay for it. When this one dies I will most likely buy another.Read full review...

Good for swimming

Fits well on the finger. Numbers are easy to read even underwater. The strap needs to be firmly pressed to make sure it doesn't come off while swimming.

Simple solution to losing count

Very happy with this lap counter. Simple solution to losing count, for a very reasonable price. I got the simplest model, with no timing, thinking I don't care about splits etc. I was concerned that lap count wouldn't be displayed continuously. Again, happy with my choice.Read full review...

This is my fourth one

Good lap counter. I swim a mile three times a week and they seem to die after a year. I do like the use and ease. Dont waste your money on the times split one. The simple lap counter lasts longer.

The one thing I wish it had would be a sound to indicate that the new lap has been recorded. I find myself looking at it after each click to confirm

Lap counter

Works well, easy to read numbers under water.
Wished it would track time of laps like my old lap counter did.
