Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - The Complete First Season

All in all, a very good TV production. Although the storyline becomes a little nebulous in subsequent seasons, this series was a solid, entertaining science fiction adventure. I was never fascinated with Benjamin Sisko as a character but I have no complaints about the acting. By far the most interesting character in the entire series was Quark, the Ferengi barkeep, who you knew would always, but very reluctantly, do the right thing. It is wonderful to see these episodes without commercials. Sitcoms don't suffer so much but dramatic presentations are greatly diminished by the interruptions. To see these episodes with the dramatic continuity intact is a joy. Some of the best SF on TV. Well worth the investment if you enjoy the Star Trek concept and franchise.

One of the best of the ST series.

I've been a fan of ST since the early 1970's when TOS was in it's early rounds of syndication. I've watched every minute of ST programming ever aired. Overall I think DS9 consistently had some of the best writing and story lines in all of ST. I wasn't too sure I was going to like the premis of a fixed station. I had always felt the boldly going someplace to be very important to the genre but after a couple seasons watching DS9, I realized that boldly going places was not limited to external explorations. Stay with Season 1's plot line and character development and you'll become a passionate fan and advocate through the entire series finale. Syfy at it's best, this was.

I received my set of DVD's much faster than I expected. I then started watching the DVD's that night (I have always been a Star Trek fan). I watched 3 or 4 episodes every evening until I had finished it. It was great watching episodes I had not seen for some time.
